  Male cyclist (50s) dies after collision with car Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist dies in a road traffic collision in Rathfarnham on Monday. The incident took place on Butterfield Park on Tuesday at 8.10am.The collision involved a male cyclist in his 50s and a car.The cyclist received serious injuries and was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead last night as a result of injuries sustained in this collision, gardai confirm.Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.Anyone with information is asked to contact Rathfarnham Garda Station 01 666 6500, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Eyewitnesses described seeing police giving emergency medical treatment to victims after the incident which happened just after midnight in Seven Sisters Road. "They are doing their usual daily routine - they did not expect a van coming out of nowhere hitting them.

  Garda appeal after pedestrian in his 80s killed in early-morning crash A PEDESTRIAN in his 80s has been killed in an early-morning road crash. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision on the N60 at Logatemple, Claremorris, Co.Mayo at 1am on Saturday.The man was fatally injured following a collision with a car. The driver and two passengers in the car were uninjured. The body of the deceased has been taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar where a post mortem examination will be carried out.The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision investigators.

One man, who gave his name as Mohin, said his cousin was caught up in the incident.

The 32-year-old told the Press Association: "There were a lot of people in the street, crossing the street, going to mosque for prayers, for forgiveness, just to pray and go home and eat.
