Tributes have been paid to a popular young GAA player who died overnight.

It is understood Conor Morgan was on holiday in Cyprus when tragedy occurred.

According to the Cyprus Mail, the 19-year-old's body was found at a hotel in Ayia Napa at around 4am on Sunday.

Local police are investigating reports that he may have fell from a second-floor balcony.

The DCU student played football with Dundalk Gaels and helped them to the Senior Championship final in 2017.

The club made the heartbreaking announcement on Facebook this morning.
