That is according to Met Eireann who predict stormy weather will develop in the capital mid week.

Before that, low temperatures and the chance of snow will dominate Sunday and the start of the week.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Fog will clear quickly this morning as southwesterly winds freshen.

"Otherwise dry and bright for the first half of the day but cloud will increase in the afternoon with rain developing towards evening.

"The southwesterly winds will also freshen through the day. Highs of 7 to 9 degrees.

Met Éireann has issued a warning as Ireland is set to be hit with nasty winds this week starting Thursday alongside an icy storm and possible snow . Met Éireann predicts that the low temperatures will begin Thursday morning, bringing along rain, sleet , and snow this weekend.

"Rain will continue for the first half of the night with the rain turning to showers later on. Southwesterly winds will become more westerly in direction through the night. Lows of 4 to 6 degrees.

"Monday will be a cold bright day with heavy showers at times. Daytime temps will be around 5 or 6 degrees in blustery westerly winds.

"A cold, windy Tuesday with widespread heavy showers merging to longer spells of rain across the western half of the country; some of the showers will be wintry. Highs of 2 to 5 degrees."

From Wednesday, conditions will worsen as the winter storm moves across the country.

The forecaster added: "Cold and windy for much of Wednesday with further showers.

"Temperatures rising during the evening as heavy rain and strong winds develop overnight with the passage of a winter storm across Ireland."

Thursday and Friday will again be the same with very wintry weather.

Man, 21, shot in leg in Cherry Orchard .
Gardai and emergency services are at the scene of a shooting in Dublin on Thursday.The shooting is understood to have happened at 8.05pm in the Cherry Orchard area of Dublin.A garda spokeswoman confirmed the incident to Dublin Live, and said that a man aged 21-years-old was shot in the leg at Cherry Orchard Parade.His injuries are understood to not be life-threatening, and he was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries including pellet fragments in his leg.Gardai remain at the scene this evening, along with Dublin Fire Brigade.
