Sinead Quinn called Liveline on RTÉ Radio 1 yesterday to say her late mother's wedding ring had been stolen.

Her sister also had rings stolen belonging to her and her later husband, stolen from their Blanchardstown home. 

Sinead said: "My sister was getting ready for bed around half 11 and realised that some jewellery was missing from her bedroom.

"She came into my bedroom and said 'All my jewellery is gone'. "Then she went into my dads room and all my mom's jewellery was gone.

"So at that point we knew something was wrong.

"My sister who lost her husband two and a half years ago, all their wedding rings and engagement rings that they had were taken.

"We lost our mom in March and all her wedding rings, engagement and eternity rings - basically all the heirlooms she wanted to hand down to us all were all taken also."

Sinead lives in the family home with her fiancé, sister Aoife and Dad.

They were all out for dinner between 5pm and 9pm in a local restaurant in Blanchardstown.

She told presenter Joe Duffy that the burglars came through an open kitchen window.However, Sinead did say that Gardaí could not estimate how many persons could have been involved.
