Ireland Firefighters battle giant blaze at Dublin metal plant
Man, 21, shot in leg in Cherry Orchard
Gardai and emergency services are at the scene of a shooting in Dublin on Thursday.The shooting is understood to have happened at 8.05pm in the Cherry Orchard area of Dublin.A garda spokeswoman confirmed the incident to Dublin Live, and said that a man aged 21-years-old was shot in the leg at Cherry Orchard Parade.His injuries are understood to not be life-threatening, and he was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries including pellet fragments in his leg.Gardai remain at the scene this evening, along with Dublin Fire Brigade.
Eight fire units are at the scene of the recycling plant , located near Dublin Airport.
Up to 75 firefighters were needed to battle the blaze at the Oxigen recycling plant at the Ballymount Industrial Estate, near Walkinstown. It sparked a toxic fume scare across several neighbourhoods in south Dublin .

EMERGENCY SERVICES ARE attending what appears to be a huge fire at St Margaret’s metal recycling plant in north Dublin.
The family-run “scrap-metal specialists” collect metal from all over Leinster, dismantling old cars to sell some parts and disposing of others.
Dublin Fire Brigade said that eight fire units, including an aerial ladder and a foam unit were attending the scene at Sandyhills, which is located near Dublin Airport.

Dublin Airport have tweeted to clarify that the fire “is not on the airport campus and the smoke is not having an impact on airport operations”.

Dublin Fire Brigade said it’s receiving “increased water supply assistance” from Fingal County Council to tackle the blaze.
It’s not yet known what caused the fire, or the extent of the damage it caused.
No casualties have been reported.
