Four men arrested earlier this week in connection with a garda investigation into organised crime in Dublin have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder . They are due to appear in court tomorrow.

A man has appeared in court in Omagh, County Tyrone, charged with conspiracy to murder and firearms offences. The court was told he was a passenger in a car stopped by police in Cookstown on Monday. All four men in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity.

Liam Brannigan (38) from Bride Street in Dublin 8, Alan Wilson (38) from New Street Gardens in Dublin 8, Luke Wilson (23) from Cremona Road in Ballyfermot, and Joseph Kelly (35) from Kilworth Road in Dublin 12 were all charged with conspiracy to murder Gary Hanley from Dublin’s north inner city on dates between September 15 and November 6 last.

Luke Wilson and Joseph Kelly were also charged with possession of a Beretta firearm and 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition with intent to endanger life on November 6.

They appeared before judge Michael Walsh at Dublin District Court this morning.

The court was told that Luke Wilson and Alan Wilson made no reply when charged, and Liam Brannigan and Joseph Kelly said ‘no comment’ when charged.

All four have been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on November 16.
