The devastated family of missing woman Tina Satchwell have rejected claims that she went on holiday to England.

The Cork woman, 45, vanished eight months ago and is described as “a high risk missing person’s case”.

In an online appeal for information relations say they want to clear up certain claims about her whereabouts.

Her husband Richard who was the last person known to see her claims she left of her own accord.

But in a Facebook page set up by other concerned family members, they wrote: “Tina’s husband believes she in the UK with family we have two family members in England and she has had no contact with either of them.

“We as a family of course have checked with all our family friends and the Gardai have spoken to these family members also, so I just wanted to clear this information up.”

Richard, however, told a Sunday newspaper: “I believe she’s in the UK where she has quite a large family.

“I actually have money put away for when she returns so that we can head off together for a few weeks break.”

Last week, her family repeated their public appeal: “Still no news on my aunt Tina we are very concerned for her safety as it’s eight months this month."

Ms Satchwell, nee Dingivan, went missing from her home on Grattan Street in Youghal.

Her husband reported her missing on 24 March - four days after he arrived home from a shopping trip to find her gone.

Gardai say they have been following up to 200 lines of enquiry, but to date there are no clues as to what may have happened to Tina or where she might be.

A massive land and sea hunt was carried out in August.The army, garda divers and dogs were drafted in to search an extended area around Youghal quays and wastelands.

Her family are set to make an emotional appeal on Crimecall tonight.

Two arrested on suspicion of murdering missing teenager .
