TWO MEN HAVE died in a house fire in Kildare overnight. An investigation has been launched by Gardaí. Members of Kildare Fire Brigade were called to the scene at Tully East shortly before 3am this morning.

One of two men who died in a house fire in Tully East in Kildare this morning has been named locally as Charlie Vaughan, a 76-year-old bachelor who owned the house . The fire , which broke in the early hours, also claimed the life of a man in his 30s, who has not been identified.

One man was aged in his 30s and the other was in his 70s.

An investigation has been launched by Gardaí.

Members of Kildare Fire Brigade were called to the scene at Tully East shortly before 3am last night.

Gardaí and members of the Garda Forensic Team also attended the scene of the fatal fire.

When the emergency services arrived at the scene the house was engulfed in flames and the roof had collapsed.

Three fire engines and two water tankers were used to extinguish the fire.

The adjoining house was evacuated amid fears the fire would spread.
