  Dublin man (65) fighting for his life after suffering from stroke on Orlando flight with grandchildren A retired Dublin Bus driver is fighting for his life after suffering from a stroke on a flight from Dublin to Miami. Dublin man Thomas Campbell (65) was on a nine -hour flight with his wife Margaret, his son, his daughter-in-law and his grandchildren when he suffered from a stroke.The former Dublin Bus and An Post employee, was to spend one night in Miami before heading on a cruise to Orlando with his family.Thomas's daughter, Leonie Campbell, told that her father remains in a critical condition in a Miami hospital.

Cllr John Dolan © Provided by Irish Independent Cllr John Dolan A popular councillor and father-of-three is fighting for his life in an induced coma after he collapsed from a mysterious illness at his home.

Cllr John Dolan (FG) was rushed to Galway University Hospital last week after collapsing.

The dairy farmer was placed in an induced coma but it is unknown what caused his shock collapse.

Mr Dolan's colleague, Cllr Ken Glynn (FF) said the community has been left shocked.

"I have a great working relationship with John. He's a hard worker and a good man.

"I hope to God he's back on his feet as soon as possible.

"The whole community is shocked. We don't know what caused his collapse at the moment but please God he'll make a recovery. He's a young man with young kids."

Labour Cllr Johnny Penrose also sent his best wishes to Cllr Dolan.

"He's very sick at the moment. I wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully he's better soon."

Mr Dolan was first elected to office in 2007 and he is a dairy farmer by profession. He is Chairman of Castledaly GAA club and Treasurer of Athlone and district School Boy League.
