BLINDFOLDED AND GAGGED: The manner in which the bodies were discovered hanging and blindfolded with hands tied and mouths tied made police suspect an occult angle in deaths from Day 1. MYSTERIOUS NOTES By June 1 night, the police had recovered a set of registers that would turn the Burari death case on its head and keep in the limelight for days to come. Initial reports about these mysterious registers said that they were essentially diary entries maintained by somebody in the family. The strangest note found in these registers was one that described a procedure for hanging a procedure whose results completely matched the manner in which the 11 bodies were found in the Burari home.

A MEETING WITH GOD: The registers also contained notes about meeting god and attaining salvation. A note dated June 26 read "have to meet God on June 30". Another said, "Using a stool, and keeping the hands, eyes and mouth tied up will help attain salvation." Police now suspect that the notes were written by Narayani Devis younger son, Lalit. The cops also suspect that the Lalits notings were based on visions in which his dead father spoke to him.

SOMEONE ELSE INVOLVED?: Last week, the Delhi Police questioned a self-styled woman named Geeta in connection with the Burari deaths. Geeta is also the daughter of a mason who was involved in the 11 mysterious water pipes that were found jutting out of the Burari home. Cops, however, had earlier in the week ruled the role of any godman/godwoman in the deaths.
