In an unprecedented move, at least four sitting Supreme Court judges addressed a press conference in New Delhi today on judicial corruption and appointments. Justice J Chelameswar along with three other senior-most judges of the Supreme Court - Justice Kurian Joseph, Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Madan Lokur - will hold the press conference at the former's official residence, 4 Tughlak Road in the national capital.

Judicial corruption and appointments have been the bone of contention not only between the judiciary and the government, but also within the judicial community.

The four judges are expected to openly address and discuss startling issues of judicial corruption at the highest levels in the judiciary. Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra is not participating or addressing the press conference. This will be the first time ever in the history of India that the nation's senior-most judges are directly speaking to the nation through the media.
