A woman has died after being found on fire outside a school in London, police have said.

Students located on the upper floors of the school in Richmond, south west London, are thought to have been able to see the fire, but not that it was a person aflame, according to The Sun.

It is not known if the woman set herself alight or caught fire another way. Police are not seeking anyone in connection to the incident at this time.

The woman was found on fire at around 1.15pm on Monday outside Christ’s Sixth Form Centre in Richmond. Her actions are not believed to be connected to the school.

Man stabbed to death in horror attack outside London school . A YOUNG man had died outside a south west London prep school in Wandsworth after being stabbed in the neck, according to witnesses.

Queens Road was closed on Monday while the incident was investigated.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to the scene just after 1pm. Despite efforts from passing motorists and fire crews, the woman was declared dead at 1.41pm.

“I saw around four drivers stop and try to help the woman," Jim Corbett, 64, who lives in the street, told The Sun.

“A van driver who covered her with blankets was a real hero but he seemed to realise there was little he could do to save her.”

A Met Police spokesman said: “The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained but police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
