Fabregas sends parting dig towards Conte

Fabregas sends parting dig towards Conte Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has sent a parting dig towards Antonio Conte following the news that he has been sacked by the club. The Spanish midfielder was caught liking a tweet on social media that read ‘Yessssssssss Conte gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn’, clearly he was happy to see him go. The two reportedly endured a mixed relationship during the Italian’s second season at the club. Fabregas played a big role in the club’s title success in his first season, but he fell out of favour last season. The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has been known to be very active on social media in the past and has made his feelings public before, making subtle comments about Conte whilst working as a pundit during the World Cup. This is not the first time a player has made their feelings towards Conte clear on social media. Willian covered the Italian with emojis on Instagram so he was blanked out of a picture from the FA Cup final.

Cesc Fabregas appears to have confirmed Antonio Conte's departure from Chelsea by posting a message of thanks to the Italian on social media.

Widespread reports emerged in England and Italy on Thursday that the Blues had dismissed Conte after two seasons in charge.

The Premier League outfit are yet to make a statement on the speculation but are believed to be preparing to install former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as his successor.

In a post to Twitter, Fabregas wrote: "Thank you Mister for another Premier League title and FA Cup.

"It wasn't easy to convince you in the beginning but in the end I hope I did you proud! Good luck for the future."

Conte led Chelsea to the title in his first season in London before his tenure turned sour last term over rumoured frustration with the club's transfer policy.

Chelsea appoint Maurizio Sarri as Conte's replacement .
Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri has been appointed as the new Chelsea head coach, according to Italian news outlet Di Marzio. Twitter: #Sarri – #Chelsea, yes! C’è la firma sul contratto (@DiMarzio) Sarri is reportedly set to join the club on an initial two-year deal following his departure from Napoli, with the option of an additional year likely to be included. The 59-year-old left Naples after coming close to guiding the Serie A outfit to the Scudetto, only to miss out narrowly to Juventus at the final hurdle. Whilst in charge of Napoli he earned plenty of plaudits for their style of play last season, something that prompted Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to hail them as his ‘favourite team in Europe’. Sarri replaces Antonio Conte, who left the club as relationships with the players and staff behind the scenes became strained. Conte had been heavily linked with a summer exit from Stamford Bridge after publicly criticising the club’s transfer policy, with an FA Cup victory not enough to keep him in the job. The former Napoli boss was one of the front-runners for the job from the get-go with the Blues looking to implement a more attacking style of play next season.
