Southampton linked with move for Iago Falque

Southampton linked with move for Iago Falque Iago Falque made only one appearance for Southampton during his loan spell at the club in the 2011/12 season in the Championship. The Spaniard joined on a short-term basis from Tottenham Hotspur but failed to really convince anyone of his talents, as he became something of a forgotten man after the club’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester City. Nevertheless, he has since gone on to enjoy relative success in Italy, performing consistently in Serie A. Several Premier League clubs have since been linked with the creative midfielder and according to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, Southampton are among the interested parties. Falque, who is now 28-years-old, is currently plying his trade with Torino and enjoyed a strong season at the club recently. He netted 14 goals in all competitions and also contributed with 10 assists. West Ham and Leicester City are also named by Tuttosport as potential destinations for Falque, but it would certainly be an unusual acquisition from Southampton should their interest be genuine.

Iago Falque Silva (Galician: [ˈjaɣo ˈfalke]; Spanish: [ˈjaɣo ˈfalke]; born 4 January 1990) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Italian club Torino. Born in Vigo, Galicia, Falque began his career with Real Madrid before moving to Barcelona in 2001.

West Ham have been linked with a move for former Tottenham midfielder Iago Falque.

Reports in Italy say that the Hammers along with Leicester and Southampton are all keeping tabs on the Spaniard, who has made a career in Italy after flopping with Tottenham in England.

Tuttosport report that the sides are taking a look at Falque, but Torino are unlikely to want to sell one of their key players.

If a big enough bid is received Torino could be forced to sell Falque, but as of yet no asking price is known for the Spaniard.

Falque left Spurs for Italy in 2014, joining Genoa. He would then move on to Roma before joining Torino in 2016 originally on loan before making his move permanent in 2017.

Chelsea ready to enter the race to sign Anderson .
West Ham are bracing themselves for competition from Chelsea in the race to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio. Il Tempo, as cited on Sport Witness, claims that the Blues are readying a €30 million offer as they look to prepare for the arrival of Maurizio Sarri. Sarri is expected to take over from Antonio Conte in the coming days and is a known admirer of Anderson. West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Anderson throughout the summer window, but the two sides are yet to agree on a fee. The player is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, but the lengthy negotiations are slowing down the deal. It is yet to be seen how serious Chelsea’s interest is, with Lazio already demanding closer to €40 million from West Ham, with the latter looking to complete a double deal for Anderson and defender Jordan Lukaku.
