Shaqiri cuts holiday short to complete Liverpool move

Shaqiri cuts holiday short to complete Liverpool move Xherdan Shaqiri cut his holiday short in order to complete a move to Liverpool this summer, according to James Pearce. Pearce, of the Liverpool Echo, claims that Swiss star has been looking to get a deal done after returning from the World Cup in Russia. The player is expected to be confirmed as a Liverpool imminently, with a medical scheduled for Friday. Liverpool are reportedly paying a fee in the region of £13 million for the Stoke man, who will provide competition for the Reds in the final third. Jurgen Klopp has been looking to add to his squad and given the low cost of the deal in the current market, Shaqiri was an opportunity that he could not pass up. The 26-year-old scored eight times for Stoke last season and registered a further seven assists in the Premier League, but he was unable to help them avoid relegation to the second tier.

Liverpool set to seal move for Ajax right-back Liverpool are set to complete a deal to sign Ajax right-back Ki-Jana Hoever this week. According to The Liverpool Echo, Hoever has been training with Liverpool’s academy this summer as the club eye up a deal to sign the youngster. Hoever has been impressing for Ajax’s academy, attracting interest from Liverpool as they look to bolster their youth ranks. The 16-year-old is a regular international for Holland’s under-16 side, where he has shown his quality at right-back. He has also shown his versatility with Ajax, as he has lined up in the heart of the defence, as well as at fullback. This comes after Liverpool completed the signing of Isaac Christie-Davies from Chelsea earlier this week on a free transfer. The highly-rated youngster was snapped up by Liverpool after a trial with the club, much like Hoever is expected to.

Liverpool told they can have Marko Pjaca for £22m

Liverpool told they can have Marko Pjaca for £22m Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Juventus winger Marko Pjaca and have apparently been told that they can have him for around £22m. Pjaca joined German club Schalke on loan for the second half of last season but crucially, there was no option to buy the player included in the deal. Juventus have their sights set on making a big push to win the Champions League and having already signed the likes of Emre Can, Mattia Perin and Douglas Costa, they are being linked with big money moves for Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial. In order to balance the books and their squad size, it looks like the Serie A champions will allow Pjaca to leave this summer and Liverpool are reportedly one of the sides interested in signing him. They’ll need to stump up around £22m to sign the 23-year-old, although any move is unlikely to happen until Pjaca returns from the World Cup, where he is currently preparing as part of the Croatia squad that will take on England tomorrow evening.

Liverpool deny making bid for Roma's Alisson

Liverpool deny making bid for Roma's Alisson Reports from in Italy have claimed that Liverpool had made a bid of €60m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson but the Liverpool Echo say that the Reds have made no such offer. As reported by Ian Doyle, Liverpool’s stance regarding Alisson has not changed and the Reds have no plans to make an offer for the goalkeeper, despite having a long-standing interest in him. A combination of Roma’s asking price and Alisson’s preference to move to Real Madrid have seemingly led to Liverpool deciding that a push to sign the Brazilian number one would be a futile exercise. With Simon Mignolet set to depart this summer and with Loris Karius’ confidence shattered after the Champions League final, Liverpool are expected to bring in a new shot-stopper but, at this moment in time, it seems like that it won’t be Alisson. As it stands, Karius will start the season as Liverpool’s number one, but there is still time for that to chance.

Stoke want loan player in return for Shaqiri deal .
Stoke are reportedly considering asking Liverpool for a player on loan in return as part of any deal to take Xherdan Shaqiri to Anfield. The Mirror reports that Gary Rowett is still looking to add to his squad this summer and could utilise Liverpool’s interest in the Swiss winger. Rowett will be in the market for a replacement for Shaqiri, which could see them try and bring in Harry Wilson, who is a target for a wealth of Championship clubs. The report does not state specifically who Stoke would be looking to land, but you can imagine Wilson is one of the names likely to be discussed. Other players who look set to leave Liverpool include the likes of Danny Ward, Ben Woodburn and Danny Ings, but it is unlikely the latter would want to drop into the Championship. Shaqiri is being heavily tipped to make a move to Anfield this summer with Jurgen Klopp keen to add depth to his squad.
