Benitez holds talks to sign Clement Grenier

Benitez holds talks to sign Clement Grenier Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has held talks with Clément Grenier over a move to the Magpies this summer. According to Get French Football News, who cite L’Equipe, the player is a target for Newcastle, Everton and Fulham. The other two managers of the respective Premier League sides are also believed to have held talks with the player. Grenier is expected to move on from EA Guingamp this summer and he has been heavily linked with a Premier League move. The player is available for as little as €3 million this summer and could be seen as a replacement for Mikel Merino, who is closing in on a move to Spain There is also interest from abroad with AC Milan, Rennes and Fenerbahce all thought to be in talks over a deal. The report suggests that the former Lyon man would like to play European football, but remains interested in the prospect of playing in England. Grenier was once heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but injuries have dampened his development in France.

It is 12 years since Newcastle paid £16m to sign Michael Owen but, although they are prepared to top that, it is felt that Feyenoord’s £ 20 m asking price for the Denmark striker is excessive. Chelsea agree £44 m deal for Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri.

Newcastle United are in talks with Chelsea over a deal to re-sign Kenedy on loan, in a deal that would include the option to buy.

Simon Johnson of the London Evening Standard reports that two clubs are discussing a £20 million deal for the Brazilian winger.

Rafa Benitez’s men have been keen to bring in the winger on a permanent basis after he enjoyed a successful stint on loan at St James’ Park.

Kenedy, who joined Chelsea with much promise, had fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge last season.

After being sent home from the club’s pre-season tour, he found game time hard to come by under head coach Antonio Conte.

Newcastle in talks to land relegated midfielder on free transfer

Newcastle in talks to land relegated midfielder on free transfer Ki Sung-yueng is in talks with Newcastle over a free transfer to the club following Swansea City’s relegation. The Chronicle reports that talks have taken place as Rafa Benitez continues to add to his squad over the summer. The midfielder confirmed earlier this season that he would not be extending his contract with the Swans, bringing an end to his six-year stay at the club. At the age of 29, he would bring a wealth of experience in the Premier League and could fill the void left by Mikel Merino, who is returning to Spain after just one season in the Premier League. Real Sociedad are keen to bring in the player back to his home country and have activated the release clause in his contract. It has been well documented that Benitez is working on small budgets throughout the summer transfer window, so the Newcastle boss will be keen to get this deal over the line.

Initial talks over a £15million proposal are understood to have taken place. Benitez has trusted Ritchie with providing a creative influence from wide but the Newcastle manager is not sure of playing the 28-year-old in more than 25 matches next season and might be open to sanctioning a move.

Newcastle have upped their bid for Feyenoord’s Nicolai Jorgensen but have failed to meet the club’s £ 20 m valuation. Swansea hope to seal an £18 m deal to re- sign Andre Ayew from West Ham. Euro Paper Talk : Chelsea agree terms over €35m Italy star; Inter strike deal for Man Utd, Spurs target.

Kenedy joined Newcastle on loan during the January window and added some much-needed pace and trickery to their attack, playing a key role in their survival push.

Newcastle have also been linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, but Kenedy has been a key target for Benitez since the end of the season.

Newcastle reach agreement with Chelsea winger over loan deal .
Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea winger Kenedy regarding a season-long loan deal. According to claims from the Daily Mail, the exciting Brazilian youngster will spend next season on loan with Rafa Benitez’s side after enjoying a strong second half to the last campaign at St James’ Park. Kenedy joined the Magpies on a short-term temporary deal from Chelsea in January and went on to impress, establishing himself as something of a fans’ favourite. However, it was unclear as to whether or not he would return for the 2018/19 season, be it on a temporary or permanent basis. It seems as though Kenedy’s move to Newcastle is set to be confirmed in the near future, though, with the Daily Mail indicating that a deal has been wrapped up. Following such an impressive spell up north, Kenedy was courted by a number of top European clubs, including Bayern Munich and PSG. The winger will join Newcastle for next season, though, as Benitez continues to press ahead with his summer dealings.
