Genoa join Celtic and Leeds in Hernandez pursuit

Genoa join Celtic and Leeds in Hernandez pursuit Italian side Genoa are the latest team to express an interest in striker Abel Hernandez. The Hull Daily Mail claims that Genoa will join the likes of Celtic and Leeds in pursuit of the striker, who will become a free agent later this month. The Uruguayan striker, who scored eight times in 10 appearances last season, has rejected a new contract offer from Hull and has become a man in-demand. Celtic have heavily linked in recent months, with the striker considered as a cheaper option with no transfer fee to pay. The Hoops have recently confirmed the permanent signing of Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain, which may scupper their chances of completing a deal. However, Brendan Rodgers has previously expressed his desire to add more goals to his attack. Leeds were thought to be leading the race to sign the player this summer, but Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment may slow down the possibility of a deal being completed.

Peterborough are said to be asking for a fee of £6.5 million for the player’s signature this summer.

Leeds are thought to be leading the race to sign him but are also interested in signing Abel Hernandez this summer.

Roberts linked with another move back to Celtic

Roberts linked with another move back to Celtic Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts is being linked with another move back to Celtic this summer. According to the Derry Journal, Roberts could become available this summer following James Maddison’s move to Leicester City. The Foxes completed the signing of Maddison on Wednesday, which all but ends their interest in Roberts, who was on loan at Celtic last season. Reports had suggested that Roberts could end up at Leicester, with Riyad Mahrez heading to Manchester City. While City are still expected to pursue a deal for Mahrez, Leicester are unlikely to push for Roberts’ signature. The report claims that should a move happen this summer, it is likely to be a loan move, with Celtic facing the prospect of being priced out of a deal. Roberts has previously stated that he would not be returning to the Hoops this summer, but it is yet to be seen how Maddison’s move to the King Power will affect this.

Rangers AND Celtic are monitoring Jack Marriott , according to the Scottish Sun. English Championship trio Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest are also credited with interest in the Yorkshireman, who Posh are resigned to losing.

The latter has been linked with a move to Celtic as well as after rejecting a contract at Hull and would represent a cheaper option for both clubs.

Celtic are looking to add more goals to their squad this summer and are close to signing Odsonne Edouard on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-Germain.

Celtic deal for Odsonne Edouard imminent .
Celtic are optimistic that a deal for French striker Odsonne Edouard could be completed imminently, according to the Glasgow Evening Times. The 16th June is the deadline for Celtic to activate a clause in the striker’s loan deal, with talks ongoing this week which are believed to be going well. Celtic’s pursuit of the striker has been handed a boost, with UEFA telling PSG they will need to sell over £53 million’s worth of players or face sanctions after their big money deals for Kylian Mbappe and Neymar last Summer. Goncalo Guedes’ sale to PSG should cover almost half of the money required, however, the French side still need to make up the rest of the shortfall before the end of the month. Edouard is therefore close to a permanent deal with Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers repeatedly making no secret of his intentions to sign the Frenchman on a permanent deal.
