The Ivorian international almost signed for Barcelona last summer before a deal collapsed, so whilst Chelsea are confident of getting their man, they’ll know that nothing is done until the 26-year-old puts pen to paper on a contract. Seri has played 121 games for Nice since arriving in 2015, scoring 14 goals in total. There have been a plenty of clubs linked with moves for the midfielder, so it will be an impressive coup by Chelsea if they can get him to Stamford Bridge, especially as the club won’t be playing Champions League football next season.

Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri is set to deal Arsenal and Chelsea a big blow after revealing talks over a move to Serie A outfit Napoli . The 26-year-old, who is expected to fetch a fee of around £35million, has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League over the past six months

Arsenal target Jean Michael Seri is reportedly keen to make the switch to the Premier League this summer. It was recently claimed by the player’ s agent that negotiations between Seri and Napoli were ongoing, with the prospect of playing for the Serie A runners-up of interest to the player.

Jean Michael Seri would prefer a move to Serie A club Napoli over the Premier League, according to the Nice midfielder's agent.

Ivory Coast international Seri has impressed during his time in Ligue 1, with a proposed move to La Liga heavyweights Barcelona falling through in August 2017.

Seri remained at Nice, making a total of 43 appearances across all competitions last term - scoring twice and recording 10 assists.

He now looks set to leave the French club, however, and his agent Franklin Mala claimed Napoli is the ideal destination for the 26-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but insisted last season's Serie A runners-up must act swiftly.

"We hope to have positive news from Naples in the next few hours," Mala told CalcioNapoli24 on Thursday.

"There's been informal contact with Napoli, but still no step forward. We're ready to meet Napoli.

"Napoli are in pole position, Seri prefers Naples to anywhere else. Napoli need to speed up in every way to close the deal.

"His €40 million (£35m/$47m) release clause expires on July 15, so they have to pay it by that date. After July 15, Nice can ask for any amount.

"There are two Premier League teams in for Seri but I can't say anything else."

West Ham reportedly table contract offer to Jean Seri .
West Ham have tabled a contract offer to OGC Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to claims from Italy. The Hammers are reportedly keen to recruit the Ivory Coast international this summer as they bid to make significant progress in Manuel Pellegrini’s first season at the club. It’s believed by Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira that the Hammers’ negotiations with Nice are progressing well, with a five-year contract offer from the Hammers having already been submitted. West Ham appear to be on the lookout for a new central midfielder ahead of next season and the addition of Seri would certainly be a signal of intent, given the other interested parties. Arsenal are understood to have expressed a strong interest in recruiting the player.
