  Chelsea submit €30m for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani Chelsea have reportedly submitted a €30 million bid to sign Daniele Rugani from Juventus this summer. Calcio Mercato reports that deal could be a sign that Maurizio Sarri is closing in on his move to Chelsea. Sarri is said to be a fan of Rugani, who has attracted the interest of Arsenal previously. The pair worked together at Empoli and he even tried to sign him for Napoli. The report claims that a deal could be struck if Chelsea meet the €40 million asking price. Chelsea could be in the market for defenders this summer, with concerns over the long-term futures of both Gary Cahill and David Luiz. Luiz is reportedly ready to leave Chelsea, with both Arsenal and Napoli interested in signing the player. Cahill endured a mixed end to the season and could fall into a more rotational role next season with Sarri set to bring in his own players if he is chosen to replace Antonio Conte this summer.

Arsenal have reportedly had a £17 million bid rejected by Chelsea for Brazilian defender David Luiz.

Reports in France from Le10 Sport claim that the Gunners are once again interested in signing the player.

Luiz has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer after falling out of favour under head coach Antonio Conte.

Arsenal were linked with the player during the January transfer, while Napoli have also been touted as a possible destination for the player this summer.

Unai Emery is reshaping the Arsenal defence this summer with the arrival of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis set to join from Dortmund.

Should Conte remain in charge at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer, then it is believed that the player will push for a move away from Chelsea.

Luiz lost his place in the Chelsea side to Andreas Christensen, despite playing a key role in the Blues’ title success under Conte.

The Brazilian made only nine Premier League starts for Chelsea last season, featuring just twice domestically during 2018.

Chelsea will make reportedly make contact with Napoli over a deal to hire Maurizio Sarri on Tuesday. Reports in Italy from Sport Italia, as cited on the Metro, claim that the Blues will approach the Serie A side in a last-ditch attempt to strike a deal. The Blues are keen to bring Sarri to Stamford Bridge and would like defender Elseid Hysaj to follow him to the Premier League. The report claims that the Blues are happy to offer David Luiz to Carlo Ancelotti’s side in an attempt to sweeten the deal. Hysaj has a £44 million release clause included in his Napoli contract, but Chelsea hope to negotiate that price through the inclusion of Luiz in the opposite direction. The Brazilian defender fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte and his long-term future appears to be away from London following a second spell with the club.
