Chelsea will travel to Huddersfield Town on the opening day of the new Premier League season.

It has been confirmed that Blues will make the trip to David Wagner’s side before facing Arsenal the following week in their first home game of the season.

Despite not yet appointing a new manager or confirming the future of head coach Antonio Conte, the Blues will be optimistic about the trip to Huddersfield.

Chelsea will be pleased with the opening run of fixtures, with only Arsenal and Liverpool featuring from the top six clubs.

Games against Cardiff and Bournemouth in September present the Chelsea boss, should Conte leave the club, a good chance to hit the ground running.

The Blues also face a busy, but favourable Christmas period with games against Leicester, Watford and London rivals Crystal Palace.

Newcastle, Norwich and Birmingham keen to sign Palmer .
Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer is reportedly a loan target for Newcastle, Norwich and Birmingham City this summer. According to a report from the Daily Mail, the youngster will be sent out on loan again next season, with Sheffield United also considering a deal. Palmer spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby County after struggling with injuries. The England youth international started last season on loan at Huddersfield, but injuries prevented him from holding down a regular place in the side. The midfielder played a key role in Huddersfield’s promotion to the Premier League but missed out on the chance to make a mark in the top flight, something he’ll be hoping to put right. Birmingham have been tracking the player for some time, after expressing an interest in him during the previous January window. Rafa Benitez is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season and Palmer could be seen as someone who could provide valuable depth.
