Watch: Bark in the Park goes hilariously wrong after dog charges field He was just being a very good boy trying to get all the baseballs. While at the (@TulsaDrillers) game .. dog night at the park .. one dog saw a ball .. and go figure. #Dogspic.twitter.

In the sole win of the series, the Red Sox were actually able to put the bat on the ball a few times and score enough runs to win a game behind a quality start If it wasn't for the Yankees getting shut out on Sunday Night Baseball against the Mets last night, the Sox easily could've been looking at being

The Mariners are one of five MLB teams with a winning percentage over .500, despite ranking in the middle of the pack in both hitting and pitching. MLB ’s wild-card setup gives this year’s Yankees - Red Sox divisional battle extra juice.

What the Mariners have done in the past month is remarkable, but the schedule they face in the next 10 days could break even the best team.

First, let's appreciate everything that has gone right lately. Right fielder Mitch Haniger hit a two-run walk-off home run Wednesday to give Seattle an 8-6 victory and a sweep of the division rival Angels. The Mariners have now won four in a row and are a season-high 20 games over .500 (44-24).

If you're going to hit a walk-off home run, might as well crush it, as Haniger did.

MLB milestone: Adrian Beltre passes Ichiro for most hits by foreign-born player

MLB milestone: Adrian Beltre passes Ichiro for most hits by foreign-born player "I don't keep track of those things, but I'm very humbled," the Rangers third baseman, 39, said of his 3,090th MLB hit.Interestingly, MLB.com noted, the milestone hit came almost exactly 20 years after Beltre got his first hit in the same ballpark, Dodger Stadium while batting eighth as a 19-year-old rookie for the home team on June 24, 1998.

That doesn’t mean the Red Sox , who won 93 games both years, weren’t very good themselves, but sometimes you run into a better or hotter team. Even though they won fewer games, you could argue that the Yankees were better than the Red Sox last year.

For the red - hot Red Sox , their statement was a 14-1 drubbing of the New York Yankees in the first matchup with their arch-rivals in MLB . For the other team in New York, it was an 8-6 win over the lowly Miami Marlins, but with the victory the Mets moved to 9-1 for the season

Since June 14 the Mariners are 22-7. They have the third-best record in baseball and are now on pace to win 105 games. No wonder Mariners fans can smell the end of Seattle's 16-season playoff drought, the longest in baseball.

But there will be challenges along the way, starting Thursday. The Mariners host the Red Sox — the team with MLB's second-best record — in a four-game series. After a travel day, the Mariners play three games in Yankee Stadium against the team with baseball's best mark, followed by three games in Boston.

Ten games in 11 days against the Yankees and Red Sox may help define this Mariners team. Are they legit championship contenders who can match up with New York and Boston? Or are they merely a good team feasting on mostly mediocre teams in the past month? This should be interesting.

Braves right-hander Mike Soroka, recovering from shoulder inflammation and making his first start since May 12, carried a no-hitter into the seventh versus the Mets. The 20-year-old hurler finished with 6 1/3 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four to get the victory.
