World Cup Group C - Predictions

World Cup Group C - Predictions It’s a given that the World Cup in Russia will have its favourites and France are one of the nations expected to go close this year. Their group, however, could provide some of the most competitive fixtures of the whole tournament, with Peru, Australia and Denmark all looking to progress to the knockout stages. France will be expected to top the group and with the squad that they possess, it’s no surprise. The rest of Group C will no doubt know that France are by far the strongest side on paper, but they are sure to enter the tournament with no fear and a firm belief that they can take up one of the top two qualification places in the group. Let’s not forget the French misery in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, where Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane and co. missed out on qualification to the knockout stages at the expense of Senegal and this year’s group opponents Denmark, who topped the group 16 years ago. How will Group C pan out this year in Russia? Let’s take a look.

Group H seems to be one of the few groups in this summer’s World Cup that doesn’t include a clear favourite, which could make it the most interesting.

The front-runners for the top spot in Group H are likely to be Colombia and Poland, two sides which are well rounded.

As for Japan and Senegal, the likelihood is that they may struggle against Colombia and Poland due to not having quality in enough positions.

However, those two sides will look towards their big game players such as Sadio Mane for Senegal and Shinji Kagawa and Shinji Okazaki for Japan, who could just produce a piece of brilliance to strengthen their team’s chances of progressing out of the group.

World Cup Group G - Predictions

World Cup Group G - Predictions The countdown continues… We are now just a few days away from the 2018 World Cup kicking off in Russia, and it’ll soon be time for the start of Group G, where we see England, Belgium, Tunisia and Panama pitted together. Belgium enter as frontrunners to proceed to the knockout stages as group winners, narrowly in front of England – they are also are sixth and seventh favourites to win the tournament, respectively. The vast majority are tipping the outcome of Group G as a straightforward one, in terms of who goes through anyway, and I for one also sit on that bandwagon. With all due respect, Tunisia and Panama will struggle to match the experience of The Three Lions and The Red Devils, and in all seriousness, will just be enjoying the stage they are performing on. It seems set in stone that the final Group G fixture between Belgium and England will decide which nation proceeds as group winners, but a tricky test in the Round of 16 and beyond awaits, regardless of which position they finish in.

The Russians are making their return to the World Cup after failing to qualify in 2006 and 2010. Russia, priced +250 to win Group H , is coming off a strong showing in the Writer’s Prediction . Arguably the easiest group to predict , Group H will be represented by Belgium and Russia in the knockout phase.

As per usual, there are many great teams and players at this summer’s World Cup but Group H contains some of the very best. Poland will be at the World Cup finals for the eighth time in their nation’s history and for the first time in 12 years.

Here’s how I predict Group H panning out.

Nigeria 2-0 Iceland: Superb Brace From Musa & Shocking Penalty Miss Give Super Eagles Deserved Win .
Win Two fantastic finishes from Ahmed Musa gave Nigeria a well-earned victory over Iceland in their FIFA World Cup Group D clash at the Volgograd Arena on Friday, which improved dramatically in the second half. Argentina's shock 3-0 defeat against Croatia meant that second place in Group D was up for grabs. Going into the match, Iceland definitely had more reason to be confident - the Scandinavians had earned a creditable 1-1 draw with the Argentinians in their opener, whereas Nigeria had succumbed to a fully deserved 2-0 defeat against Croatia.
