Maurizio Sarri has reportedly agreed a three-year contract to take over at Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea ready to continue their push for Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea ready to continue their push for Maurizio Sarri Chelsea will make further efforts to land Maurizio Sarri in the coming days, according to reports from Italy. The Blues had looked as though they were set to turn their attention away from Sarri, with a deal proving to be overly complex to achieve. This is down to the release clause which existed in Sarri’s old contract at Napoli. Despite the Italian having been dismissed by the Serie A runners-up, a fee of €8m is being demanded by Napoli and legal action has been threatened if these terms are not agreed. Chelsea have been linked with a swoop for former PSG boss Laurent Blanc but according to claims from Sportitalia, via Football Italia, Sarri remains a top target. The Blues are yet to sack Antonio Conte but it seems only inevitable that they will head into the upcoming season with a new manager at the helm. Chelsea finished 5th in the Premier League and won the FA Cup last season, meaning that they will be playing their football in the Europa League next term.

Sarri was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti as Napoli manager in the course of the week and flew into London on Friday to engage in negotiations with the London club over a two- year contract . Chelsea and changing of coaches are like ladies and changing of guys.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich had a seven-hour meeting with Sarri yesterday who left Napoli this week after three years at the Serie A side. Maurizio Sarri has agreed to become Chelsea boss. Abramovich is set offer the 59-year-old a two-year contract and meet the £7million release clause

The report claims that Chelsea remain keen for Sarri to bring defender Elseid Hysaj with him to Stamford Bridge.

David Luiz continues to be linked with a move in the opposite direction. The Brazilian could be used as a bargaining chip to help Chelsea conclude a deal.
