Liverpool receive Xherdan Shaqiri encouragement

Liverpool receive Xherdan Shaqiri encouragement Liverpool will look to sign Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri when he returns home from the World Cup, according to David Maddock of The Mirror. Shaqiri is keen to make the move to Anfield after Stoke’s relegation and his release fee of around £12million will make him a relative bargain when compared to other deals which are taking place across Europe. Jurgen Klopp is keen to add depth to his squad and sees the Swiss international as somebody who can back up his starting front three, and it seems like Shaqiri to take up such a role in the squad. The collapse of the Nabil Fekir transfer had people wondering if Shaqiri was a direct replacement for the Frenchman but Maddock reports that this isn’t the case. Instead, Liverpool will cool their transfer activity whilst the World Cup group stage games take place and they’ll reassess their options and look to do more deals later on in the window.

Jurgen Klopp has reassessed his transfer plans and is prepared to go back into the market to solve the problems with Liverpool’s defence. Liverpool’s manager had indicated when his team were in Los Angeles that, after signing seven players, his business for the window was done

Jurgen Klopp is to reassess his goalkeeping options after conceding defeat in the chase for Roma stopper Alisson, according to the Mirror.

Reports had been circulating in Brazil, Alisson’s home country, that Liverpool had made a £60million bid for the player, but it is in fact believed that no such bid has been made as the Reds believe that such a fee is far too high.

Roma are keen to keep a hold of Alisson, especially considering they sold Mo Salah to the Reds last summer for less than £40million.

The Serie A side have put a huge price tag of £70 million on Alisson’s head and the club are insistent that they won’t sell the keeper for less than their evaluation.

Liverpool set to block Real's advances for Klopp

Liverpool set to block Real's advances for Klopp Liverpool will block any pursuit of Jurgen Klopp from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports. Los Blancos are on the hunt for a new manager following the shock confirmation of Zinedine Zidane’s resignation and a number of candidates have been touted as targets for the job. Klopp, along with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, has been linked with the hot-seat at the Bernabeu Stadium. According to Telefoot, as cited by GFFN, Real will make their move for the duo but are expected to have no luck in landing them this summer. However Jurgen Klopp is said to be completely against paying such a high price for a goalkeeper and has told his board that he’s not prepared to meet Roma’s valuation.

Klopp is still desperate to sign a goalkeeper this summer with Simon Mignolet looking set to depart and Klopp wanting to demote Loris Karius after his Champions League final nightmare.

Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak had been another target for Liverpool but he is also likely to demand a high transfer fee, leaving Klopp needing to reassess the transfer market.
