The Telegraph reports that the Italian has told close friends that he is not planning on walking away from his job at Stamford Bridge. Conte is expected to leave the club this summer but faces the sack with no more top European jobs available. There had been hope from those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge that Real Madrid could tempt him away from the Blues, meaning they would not have to pay their head coach the remaining £9 million of his contract. However, Julen Lopetegui’s appointment at the Bernabeu means that the Blues are likely to be forced into sacking Conte if they want to appoint boss Maurizio Sarri. The former Napoli boss is said to have agreed terms of a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but the two clubs remain in discussions over a fee.
