West Ham lead Southampton in the chase for Fredericks

West Ham lead Southampton in the chase for Fredericks Southampton are set to miss out on Ryan Fredericks, with West Ham in talks to sign the Fulham star. Sky Sports have reported that Crystal Palace were also interested in the out-of-contract right-back, but the Hammers are leading the Eagles and the Saints in the race for his signature. Fredericks was a huge part of Fulham’s successful campaign, as they secured promotion back to the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in the play-off final at Wembley last weekend. It has also been reported that the Cottagers have been in contract talks with the 25-year-old since November, but no deal has been agreed thus far. With Jeremy Pied’s contract expiring at the end of next month, Southampton will be looking for another right-back, with current first-choice Cedric Soares’ future at the club in the balance. But even if the Portuguese international does opt to stay on the South Coast, Saints will still need a back-up or at least competition for Cedric.

Dusan Tadic scored twice as Southampton eased past relegated Aston Villa to keep alive their faint hopes of European football. Shane Long netted an early header then raced onto Leandro Bacuna's awful backpass and squared for Tadic to double the lead.

So, if both these deals come off, expect Wednesday fans to be far from happy with Aston Villa this summer. As reported by The Mirror, Aston Villa look to have beaten off a whole host of Only two players hit double figures for Wednesday last season, Atdhe Nuhiu with 11 and Gary Hooper with 10.

Southampton, according to a report in the Daily Mail, are looking to take full advantage of Aston Villa’s current financial woes by weighing up a double bid for Andre Green and Keinan Davis.

It’s no secret that the Midlands club need to raise around £40 million in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, so they are now willing to listen to reasonable offers for their best players this summer. This will open up the door for academy players to be promoted to the main squad.

20-year-old Davis and 19-year-old Green, who, between them, have already made over 60 appearances for the senior side, are expected to feature heavily next season for the Claret and Blue.

West Ham interested in signing Jack Grealish

West Ham interested in signing Jack Grealish West Ham are reportedly eyeing up a move for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, following the Villans 1-0 loss to Fulham in the Championship Play-Off Final, according to The Mirror. The defeat at Wembley mean Villa need to sell some star players, due to concerns over Financial Fair Play. Certain players including Scott Hogan and Mile Jedinak are currently on £2m per year to play at Villa Park whilst Micah Richards and Ross McCormack have also been paid large amounts of money by Villa but have not made a single appearance for the club this season. Therefore, Steve Bruce will have to let go of a few key players in order to avoid further FFP issues for Villa John Terry has already left Villa Park, whilst loan signings, such as Lewis Grabban and Robert Snodgrass, have left for their parent clubs. West Ham are reportedly interested in bringing Grealish to the Premier League, but are not alone, with Everton and Leicester City also keeping a keen eye on him.

However, considering the financial state the club is in, Villa owner Tony Xia could sanction the sale of these talented youngsters.

Southampton, who avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth, struggled to score goals last season (averaging less than one a game), so Mark Hughes is on the lookout for talented attackers to ensure that next season is a much more comfortable one.

There’s no doubt that losing the services of these mercurial players would be a huge blow to Steve Bruce, but perhaps a great bargain for Southampton at reported prices of £3-4 million.

Tottenham rival Chelsea with £15m bid for Grealish .
Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham have launched a £15 million bid for Aston Villa Jack Grealish. Twitter: BREAKING: Sky sources: @SpursOfficial have offered £15million for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish. #SSN https://t.co/iP7TebrwP8 (@SkySportsNews) Given Aston Villa’s failure to gain promotion back to the Premier League, and their subsequent financial issues, it is widely accepted that Grealish will be leaving this summer. However, Villa have apparently put a £40 million asking price on the 22-year-old, so Spurs’ offer falls way short of that valuation. There is no word if Villa have responded to the offer as of yet, but it seems likely that they’ll reject it and ask for a bid which comes closer to their valuation. There are reportedly a number of clubs interested in the England U21 international so there shouldn’t be any need to accept the offer, although the club’s financial worries could dictate otherwise. Chelsea were said to have offered Aston Villa £30 million and the option to loan the player back for another season, which raises yet more questions about Spurs’ bid.
