Marseille priced out of Fellaini deal

Marseille priced out of Fellaini deal French side Marseille have been priced out of a deal for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini. L’Equipe say that the player’s agent has held talks with the French side but they are unable to meet his wage demands. Talks are said to have taken place in France regarding a move, but a deal is thought to be unlikely. The Ligue 1 outfit are now said to be considering a move for Manchester City’s Yaya Toure as an alternative. Milan are thought to be leading the race to sign the player this summer, but he has also been linked with moves to Turkey. Besiktas have been long-term admirers of the player and could look to pounce with the midfielder set to leave Old Trafford. Reports have claimed that United offered new deals to the player in a bid to keep him at Old Trafford, but the Belgian international has rejected them as he seeks regular first-team football.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly expressing an interest in signing Morgan Sanson from Marseille this summer.

The Frenchman enjoyed a strong season in Ligue 1, impressing in the heart of Marseille’s midfield. Sanson’s displays also helped the team reach the Europa League final, where they were defeated by Atletico Madrid.

According to claims from France Football, as cited in a report from GFFN, a host of Premier League clubs are attentive to Sanson’s situation at Marseille amid talk that he could be set to seek pastures new this summer.

The former Montpellier star’s performances throughout the course of the past season don’t appear to have gone unnoticed, with France Football claiming that both Arsenal and Chelsea have been keeping a close eye on his progress.

However, Tottenham Hotspur are presented as the club with the greatest interest in recruiting Sanson. Mauricio Pochettino is apparently an admirer of the midfielder, with Spurs having joined the race for the player’s signature.

Arsenal and Tottenham to battle for Martins .
Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the signature of winger Gelson Martins, according to Sport Witness. Martins is set to become a free agent after winding down his contract at Sporting Lisbon and several media outlets in Portugal had been linking him with a transfer to Benfica. However it now appears that a move to the Premier League could be on the cards for the winger. Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias has claimed that despite Benfica’s approach for Martins, negotiations didn’t develop and that the winger’s agent Ulisses Santos is keen on getting his player a move to England. Arsenal have already made two €30m offers for the player, but with the player set to become a free agent, they could be joined in the race by their North London rivals Tottenham. Martins is among a host of Sporting Lisbon players who are revolting against the club after a troubled season which even saw players assaulted at a training session last month. Sporting finished seventh in the league last season, three points off a European spot and 36 points behind champions Porto. However Martins enjoyed a good season personally, scoring 13 goals and laying on 13 assists.
