Dak Prescott is up for the challenge of becoming the best in Dallas.

The Cowboys quarterback aspires to develop this season and beyond to become the greatest signal-caller the franchise has seen.

"I want to be the best I can," Prescott told reporters at the Cowboys' Reliant Home Run Derby at Dr Pepper Ballpark, via ESPN. "I want to be the best quarterback that the Cowboys ever had. So when I go in each and every day, it's just about being the best player I can be. All that stuff comes when you play the game well."

Prescott has a long way to go if has any hope of being compared to Cowboys greats Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman and Tony Romo, though the Pro Bowl quarterback is off to a good start by winning 22 of his first 32 regular-season starts.

Entering his third NFL season, Prescott is slated to be paid $630,000 in 2018 but could set himself up for a mega contract and a hefty raise if he puts on another explosive performance this season.

Prescott, who turns 25 in July, has thrown for 6,991 yards and 45 touchdowns against 17 interceptions in his first two seasons in Dallas. He's also added 639 yards rushing and 12 scores.
