Pacers offseason outlook: How will Indiana attack free agency after surprising season?

Pacers offseason outlook: How will Indiana attack free agency after surprising season? The Pacers can’t be complacent with what they accomplished this season, but they certainly don’t want to overspend and find themselves with a bloated payroll. The league is littered with teams that overspent after a good year and wound up with an overwrought cap situation (hello, Hornets!).There’s a chance that Pritchard could make a pitch for a young, star-caliber player, especially a restricted free agent like Orlando’s Aaron Gordon, the Lakers’ Julius Randle, Cleveland’s Rodney Hood or Chicago’s Zach LaVine. One option that would be a risk, but with a high payoff: Utah’s Derrick Favors.

“ Indy is hallowed ground for racers like me and I couldn’t be more thrilled to drive the Corvette Z06 pace car around the track that helped drive my success over the years,” Gordon said. Victor Oladipo is already thinking about offseason training. The sibling rivalry inside Pacers-Cavaliers.

Pacers guard Victor Oladipo has been chosen to lead the field of 33 drivers to the start of the 102nd Indianapolis 500.

Oladipo, who made his first All-Star team this season after being traded to the Pacers from the Thunder, will drive the 2019 Corvette ZR1 Pace Car Sunday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“This is a tremendous honor for me,” Oladipo said in a release. “I’m so thankful Indiana continues to embrace me, from Indiana University to the Pacers and now the Indianapolis 500, the greatest race in the world. I would like to thank Chevrolet, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Pacers for allowing me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Excited is a huge understatement to how I feel about this. I can’t wait.”

This will be the 15th time a Corvette has served as the official Pace Car, starting in 1978, and the 29th time a Chevrolet has led the field, dating back to 1948. No other vehicle has served as the Pace Car more than the Corvette.

Danica Patrick: A legacy that goes beyond the track .
On Sunday, May 27, Danica Patrick's professional racing career will come to an end at the Indianapolis 500. Fittingly, she’ll say goodbye at the race where she burst onto the scene as the Rookie of the Year in 2005, and alongside the sponsor, GoDaddy, who helped her attain a level of visibility that most motorsport drivers can only dream about. No matter what happens on Sunday, Patrick will retire as the most successful female racer in the history of both IndyCar and NASCAR. She has the highest finish by a female driver at both the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500, and is one of only 14 drivers to have led laps at both iconic races.
