Can unlikely to make Champions League final

Can unlikely to make Champions League final Emre Can is looking increasingly unlikely to be back to fitness in time to feature against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final, according to The Telegraph. Can is currently in his native Germany, where on Monday he had a scan on his back injury which he received in the 5-0 win at Anfield against Watford. However, the results of the scan were inconclusive and further tests will be taken as to whether he can return to Melwood and start training again next week. If he were to return to Merseyside, which would be next Monday at the very earliest, he would still have just shy of a fortnight to prove he fit for the Champions League Final. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said in a recent interview (via The Telegraph): “Emre will be assessed on Monday to check how it has improved.” “He has done a lot of things and it feels really good but in the end you always need a doctor to tell you, ‘now it’s fine, now you can go again’. That’s the situation. I think he will have a scan on Monday and then we will know more.” “It would be good news for the final.

When it comes to Emre Can ' s future , Liverpool are on the clock. Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta confirmed the Italian giants tried to get Can in the summer. If Liverpool cannot come to terms on a new deal in the coming weeks , it would make sense from a business point of view to at

Can is reportedly ready to sign a five-year deal with Juventus, however, an announcement will not be made by Liverpool until after the Champions League final on May 26.

The box-to-box midfielder has enjoyed a good four years at Liverpool, making 166 appearances and scoring 14 goals since joining from Bayern Leverkusen as a 20-year-old.

Emre Can's move to Juventus edging closer

Emre Can's move to Juventus edging closer Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is moving closer and closer to securing a move to Juventus, after it emerged that only an official announcement from the clubs is missing, according to Calcio Mercato. The German midfielder is set to leave on a free transfer after failing to agree a new deal at Liverpool with his contract expiring at the end of this season. He has been out with a knee injury for a number of weeks now and has played his last game for the club. In the early part of the season he was a fixture in the Reds side, but due to the form of James Milner and Jordan Henderson, he has found it tough to get back to their levels when he’s been in training. Following his injury, he has also missed out on selection for Germany’s World Cup squad and this is something he would have expected to be included in, had he been fit. There is an outside chance he could be back for the Champions League final, but due to him wanting to leave, Jurgen Klopp is possibly unlikely to afford him this opportunity.

Liverpool assistant manager Colin Pascoe believes Emre Can could be a future club captain but in the short term he may just have to settle with assuming Steven Gerrard’ s midfield role.

Emre Can is out of contract at Liverpool this summer and could leave the club. His situation remains unclear, however, with Can confirming last month he would only be concentrating on the ongoing season, before permitting his agent to sort out his future once the summer window opens.

The Reds will be disappointed to see can leave but may already have a replacement lined up with RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita joining the club this summer, and after agreeing to the move almost a year ago in a deal worth £52.75 million.
