Boyata included in Belgium squad

Boyata included in Belgium squad Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has been included in Belgium’s 28-man provisional World Cup squad. Boyata is included by Roberto Martinez having had an excellent three years in Scotland, winning the title in every season at Celtic Park. Twitter: Our #WorldCup squad list ! Final 23 04/06 #REDTOGETHER (@BelRedDevils) The 27-year-old is hoping to go to Russia having missed out on Brazil four years ago. He currently has four caps for his country. He would likely be a bench player in the tournament, but with both Vincent Kompany and Toby Alderweireld having had long spells out with injury this season, he could easily be called upon with any reoccurrence. Boyata has already stated he would be devastated to miss out, but his inclusion looks likely with Roberto Martinez happy with how solid he has been for the Hoops. Chelsea and Tottenham each have three players in the side, while Radja Nainggolan was surprisingly left out. Issues between him and Martinez appear to have scuppered his chances despite the manager insisting it was a tactical decision. The final squad is set to be announced following a friendly against Portugal at the start of June.

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has revealed contract talks are continuing with the club ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup final.

The Herald report that the 27-year-old is happy in Scotland and is hopeful of coming to an arrangement sooner rather than later.

Boyata joined to Bhoys from Manchester City in 2015 for around £1.5m having failed to make an impact at first-team level.

He has since gone on to lift three Scottish Premiership titles and should the Hoops beat Motherwell on Saturday, the centre-back will also make it back to back trebles.

His representatives are believed to have begun talks with the club as early as March, with his current deal lasting until next summer.

Luka Adzic could move to Celtic for just £1.5m

Luka Adzic could move to Celtic for just £1.5m Red Star Belgrade forward Luka Adzic, is reportedly in contention of a summer move to Scottish Premier League Champions, Celtic and according to HITC, he is set to leave Belgrade for a fee as low as £1.5million. The forward had been going through contract negotiations with Red Star but it is believed the talks have reached a stalemate. In January, Luka Adzic’s agent Radojica Bozovic, claimed that Celtic were keen on bringing the talented forward to Parkhead. Quoted by the Daily Record, he said: “I know that there is an interest from Celtic, but also some other clubs for Luka, but there was no concrete offer. We have decided Luka would leave the Red Star very soon. His father, and my godfather, Ivan talked with Mr Terzic (Red Star director of football) and the people from the club.” HITC also revealsthat Celtic are to face some competition if they are still keen to bring the 20-year-old to Scotland. Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, PSV and Anderlecht are all allegedly interested in Adzic, whose contract is due to expire in December. The Scottish champions have history when it comes to nurturing promising young footballers on the path to the top and Adzic could be the next young star to be wearing the green and white of Celtic next season and Brendan Rodgers could get his man for a relatively low fee.

Updated: 22nd March 2018, 1:57 pm. DEDRYCK BOYATA has REFUSED to commit his long-term future to Celtic . The Belgian defender’s agent has held contract talks with Parkhead chiefs — but no agreement has been reached.

Celtic manager Rodgers has said that he wants Boyata to remain at Celtic Park beyond his current deal. The former Liverpool and Swansea City boss has also revealed that talks over a new contract have started.

The Belgian has made 37 appearances across all competitions this season and will find out next week if he has made Roberto Martinez’s squad for the World Cup in Russia.

In an interview, Boyata said:

“I am in talks with the club. I have said it before that I am happy here. Right now, nothing is done and it’s not like I can actually say what is going to be done, but I am in talks and we are trying to find some sort of arrangement.”

“I am happy here. I have been talking a lot with the manager and trying to find a solution. I don’t want to say yes and then nothing happens later, but everything is just so positive. I am having a great time.”

Rodgers admits Celtic star Tierney may need to leave in the future .
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that while Kieran Tierney isn’t close to leaving Celtic in the immediate future, it may be hard to keep him at Parkhead long-term. Tierney has been scouted and linked as a potential signing by plenty of top clubs across the continent, especially among the top clubs in the Premier League, and recent reports have linked Atletico Madrid with a move for the Scotland international. Rodgers, responding to that particular story, says that the 20-year old won’t be on the move imminently, but expressed that with large sums of money likely to be offered elsewhere, Celtic can’t expect to keep him forever. Rodgers said; “There is a dearth of good left-backs. With Kieran’s qualities and huge potential still as a young player, that is always going to draw the eyes of top teams.” “Kieran has great qualities. He has a really good temperament and that is getting better in big games. That’s important. Tactically, he understands the game much better. Physically, he can cope with any league in the world. He has got stronger and faster. He is playing at a big club.” “He’s a really exceptional young guy. He’s very stable in his home life and family are Celtic mad. He doesn’t let it (transfer speculation) affect him. You see his passion and love for Celtic.
