Barcelona rule out a Liverpool move for Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona rule out a Liverpool move for Ousmane Dembele Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde says Ousmane Dembele will not be moving to Anfield this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo. Liverpool have been heavily linked with the Frenchman in recent days, however, Jurgen Klopp laughed off rumours about Dembele after the Chelsea defeat at the weekend. Klopp said: “Who was the second name? Dembele? Oooh, is he on the market? Now I am interested! I never comment on transfer rumours.” The 20-year-old has had an indifferent first season at the La Liga champions after signing for a hefty €105 million last summer, making 20 appearances and scoring just three goals. After being blighted by injury in his first campaign, Valverde is backing the young winger to become a success in time. “We have to realise he just got here. He’s had some injuries and getting playing time in our team is not easy but we know he’s young, he’s had a tough season and we hope he will continue to develop next year.” The Reds will have to look elsewhere for attacking additions, with Nabil Fekir seeming most likely to come in as things stand.

Coutinho wants to leave Liverpool and join Barcelona . Brazil’s team doctor has said the player is suffering from stress over the incident. Coutinho remains Barcelona ’s top target as they also close in on Ousmane Dembele . Liverpool won’t let the Brazilian go until they have a replacement lined up.

Barcelona are open to the possibility of selling forward Ousmane Dembele this summer, less than a year after first signing him, according to reports.

A number of clubs, including Liverpool, are interested in the player and the Reds have apparently let Barcelona know that they’re willing to do a deal.

Dembele joined Barcelona for a fee of  £135 million but has found it tough to make much of an impact spending much of his first season on the treatment table.

Even when he has been available, January signing Philippe Coutinho has been selected ahead of him which has cast doubt over his future.

Ousmane Dembele looks set to stay in Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele looks set to stay in Barcelona French star Ousmane Dembele looks like he will remain at Barcelona, despite stories linking him with a move away from the Nou Camp, according to reports. Dembele was signed by the Spanish giants for €150 million last summer, but he has only made 14 appearances across all competitions this season. Despite his lack of game time, the young star has managed to get himself named in Didier Deschamps final 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia this summer. This season, the 21-year-old has scored four times and made six assists in all competitions for the Catalan side. There have been reports that the Frenchman would be leaving with Liverpool being one of the clubs that wanted him on a season-long loan but he looks set to stay at the Nou Camp, meaning the Reds will need to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements this summer.

Liverpool reportedly want Barcelona forward Dembele , who has toiled ever since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund last summer. The France international could leave the club having failed to gel with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.

Dembele scored just three times in La Liga this season and is keen for a fresh start which he would be afforded under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, and there is talk that Barcelona would be willing to let him leave on loan for a season.

Liverpool would prefer a transfer but the option of taking such a special player for a season might be tempting for Klopp.

Barcelona and Liverpool hav… (@LFCTransferRoom) According to ElChiringuitoTV, via LFC Transfer Room, Liverpool and Barcelona have reached an agreement over the signing of Mina ahead of next season. The report states that Mina will become a Liverpool player at the start of the upcoming transfer window, joining on loan. Mina joined Barcelona in January for €11.8m but has only made three appearances for the club thus far. The Colombian defender has been unable to usurp Gerard Pique or Samuel Umtiti for a place in the side. He now looks set to be competing with Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip for a starting place alongside Virgil Van Dijk in the Liverpool defence. Jurgen Klopp may look to explore the possibility of a buy-out clause in the loan deal, with it appearing odd that the club would sign a defender on loan.
