According to The Manchester Evening News, United have held preliminary talks with Willian’s agent over a move in the upcoming transfer window. The Premier League transfer window opens on the 17th May, with the window closing in mid-August – before the start of the league season. United have been heavily linked with Willian over the past few years, with current United boss Jose Mourinho having signed the winger for Chelsea in his time at Stamford Bridge. The impressive Brazil international has been a consistent performer for Chelsea over the years and has proven himself to be one of the best wingers in the division. Chelsea will be hoping they can keep hold of Willian, as well as adding to their own squad. Although, it remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte will still be at the club come the start of next season.

Chelsea midfielder Willian’s agent has reportedly held informal talks with Manchester United in the last month.

The Manchester Evening News report that Willian’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, met with United officials to discuss the possibility of a move during this summer’s transfer window.

United manager Jose Mourinho is known to be a huge fan of the player having signed him for Chelsea in 2013 and he’s since attempting to re-sign him on two occasions, including an enquiry about his availability last summer.

Willian fits the description of the calibre of player Mourinho has targetted in recent years, as he has looked to acquire players accustomed to the Premier League such as Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku.

Willian open to a move to Manchester United

Willian open to a move to Manchester United Chelsea winger Willian is reportedly open to a move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Mirror. The Brazilian is keen to reunite with former boss Jose Mourinho, with whom he had a close relationship, after falling out with current Blues boss Antonio Conte. The 29-year-old could still depart Stamford Bridge even if Conte were to leave the club, as he is expected to, and talks have already begun between Chelsea and United chiefs. Willian will be a big miss to Chelsea as he contributed 13 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, these numbers will have to be replaced if he leaves the club. Chelsea sold midfielder Nemanja Matic to Manchester United last summer and would be reluctant to let another big player leave for Old Trafford but the funds they receive could significantly improve their budget for this transfer window in compliance with FFP rules.

In addition, the 55-year-old raved about the ability of Brazilian players last month, saying:

“I think that a team without a Brazilian isn’t a team. But also, a squad with three or four Brazilian athletes, depending on their profile, cannot make a great team too. I’m kidding! I think their talent is fantastic and the creativity of the Brazilian player cannot be measured. If a European team, like, very European, could have a Brazilian in their squad, it would bring a ‘Brazilian thing’ to the game and I think that’s very important.”

The Red Devils have also been linked with moves for Brazilian duo Alex Sandro and Fred.

Willian has been one of Chelsea’s stand out players in a disappointing campaign, scoring six times and providing seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

The 29-year-old is contracted to Stamford Bridge until 2020, but his age and length of contract could persuade the Blues to sell.

Juventus have offered Mario Mandzukic to Manchester United .
Juventus have offered Manchester United the chance to sign Croatia international striker Mario Mandzukic, according to MailOnline. Earlier today, Football Italia claimed that United were monitoring the situation of Mandzukic, with manager Jose Mourinho reportedly keen on bringing him to Old Trafford. The Turin club are hopeful of bringing Italy and United fullback Matteo Darmain to the Juventus Stadium this summer, and despite the Red Devils interest in Alex Sandro, Juventus plan on offering him a new contract. Talks for Darmian suggest the Bianconeri will pay around £12million for Darmian, while they have used the opportunity of talks to offer Mandzukic to the club. On the future of these players, Juventus chief executive Guiseppe Marotta said; “Darmian? He can be part of the opportunities we are looking for, he is Italian and our hardcore must always be formed by players of our national team and who have greater ability to understand our habitat.” “So I do not hide it, it’s a profile that interests us.” “Mandzukic? When a player asks to go away we always try to satisfy him, just as the stimuli may have disappeared. We do not have to take any position at the moment, so Mandzukic is still Juventus.” “With the representatives of Alex Sandro we will see each other in the next week and I think it is desirable to prolong.
