Fresh off a strong showing at the Players Championship, Tiger Woods has committed to playing the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Ohio.

A tweet from the Memorial's official account on Wednesday read, in part: "HE'S BACK! Who else is excited??"

The tournament, which runs from May 31 to June 3, features another strong field. New world number one Justin Thomas joins Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Jason Day among those already committed to feature in an event that holds a special place on the PGA Tour as it is hosted by Hall of Famer Jack Nicklaus.

Woods will make his 15th trip to the Memorial, a tournament he has won five times, most recently in 2012. Perhaps more importantly, it will mark his eighth event of 2018 and he has also committed to play in the U.S. Open next month.
