Fiorentina and Palace battling for Dendoncker

Fiorentina and Palace battling for Dendoncker Crystal Palace are set to battle with Serie A side Fiorentina for the signing of Leander Dendoncker this summer, according to Calciomercato. Palace attempted to buy the player in January without luck, while West Ham were also rumoured with a move for the player. Anderlecht have previously admitted that they would accept an offer if they receive a proposal entailing an appropriate fee from potential suitors, with Dendoncker one of the club’s most valuable assets. Florentina are now set to join the battle for the player, with Palace remaining the firm favourites to get a deal over the line. Palace will undoubtedly be hoping that the allure of Premier League football along with financial power will dissuade Dendoncker from the prospect of playing for Fiorentina. The London club are safe in the top flight now and can now prepare themselves ahead of next season, with Dendoncker likely to be a target once again.

According to reports from Belgian outlet DH (h/t The Chronicle, live blog: 9:40 am), Belgian club Anderlecht are looking to complete the signing of Matz Sels from Newcastle United on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window.

With Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez on the lookout for new shot-stoppers in the summer, and with a deal in place to sign Martin Dubravka permanently, it appears there is no room for Sels at St James’ Park. Fortunately, the 26-year-old has done more than enough at Anderlecht to convince the reigning

Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels is on the verge of joining Belgium club Anderlecht on a permanent deal but there are problems between the two club’s negotiations.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, The Magpies have set a price tag of €4m, which Anderlecht believe to be too much with the price tag now becoming a problem between the two sides.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper joined Newcastle in 2016 for £6.5 million from Gent but has since failed to make himself a regular in the starting 11.

Sels spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Anderlecht, impressing during his 36 appearances for the Belgian side.

Anderlecht believe Newcastle are being ‘stiff’ as they try to haggle the price down, but Newcastle are determined to recoup as much of the £6.5million that Sels cost them as possible.

Reports say that Sels is prepared to take a pay cut to join the Belgian club and wants to sign a five-year deal.

Hoffenheim eye swoop for Newcastle defender .
Chancel Mbemba is likely to leave Newcastle United this summer and according to the Chronicle, Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have expressed an interest in signing him. The defender has fallen down the pecking order at St James’ Park and could be forced to look elsewhere in his bid to play regular, first-team football. Mbemba has been linked with a few clubs now and the latest to join the race for his signature is Hoffenheim who, managed by the impressive Julian Nagelsmann, finished third in the Bundesliga this season. The DR Congo international is keen to continue playing in a top European league, it is claimed in the report, therefore Hoffenheim’s interest could come as pleasing news for the player. Mbemba has also been linked with a surprise return to RSC Anderlecht this summer, as his future at Newcastle becomes increasingly uncertain. It’s stated that Mbemba’s agent has been told to actively seek potential destinations for his client, with Rafa Benitez deeming the player surplus to his requirements for the upcoming season.
