Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins will miss most if not all offseason after suffering a broken foot Thursday during the team's conditioning drills.

Collins will undergo surgery early next week after breaking the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, according to the Star-Telegram. It marks the second time in five months Collins would have surgery on his left foot as he had surgery in January to fix a stress reaction that bothered him throughout last season, although he was still able to start every game.

The 23-year-old should be ready to join the Cowboys by the middle of training camp and is expected to be ready for the team's regular-season opener Sept. 9 against the Panthers.
