Crystal Palace player ratings: Bournemouth (A) Crystal Palace were denied a crucial victory at Bournemouth with Josh King netting late to salvage a point for the Cherries. Palace were on their way to a vital victory before the Norweigan scored, with the Eagles attempt to put some space between them and the bottom three. Roy Hodgson’s side took the lead early in the second half with Luka Milivojevic netting from a free kick. It was the Serbian’s tenth goal of the season for the Palace, the first midfielder to net ten Premier League goals for the Eagles in one season. Mousset equalised for the Cherries, before Wilfried Zaha skilfully netted Palace’s second. Palace looked to be on their way to a vital victory, but Josh King scored late on to dash the Eagles hopes. The result leaves Palace three points away from the drop zone with Southampton yet to play this weekend. The Saints take on Arsenal tomorrow. Here’s how we rated Palace this afternoon.

CHELSEA have zero interest in selling Ruben Loftus - Cheek and insist he is part of their long-term plans. The 21-year-old midfielder is currently thriving on a season-long loan at Crystal Palace . Eagles boss Roy Hodgson wants to make the move a permanent one.

Crystal Palace loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed he is yet to make a decision on his long-term future.

The midfielder is currently on loan from Chelsea and has impressed for Palace in the heart of the midfield.

Loftus-Cheek has been one of the standouts in the bottom half of the table, but could still struggle to make an impact when he returns to Chelsea.

There has been recent speculation that he could move to Palace on a permanent deal in the summer, despite having signed a new long-term Chelsea deal at the start of the season.

Christian Benteke set to be fit for Brighton clash

Christian Benteke set to be fit for Brighton clash Crystal Palace expect Christian Benteke to be fit for the massive home game with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, according to the Standard. However, there is no guarantee that Roy Hodgson will put the Belgian striker straight back into the first team as his form in front of goal was not good prior to him picking up a groin injury. With no recognised strikers available to him, Hodgson chose to use Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend as a forward duo in Palace’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth and there’s every chance he could stick with that against the Seagulls. Palace are desperate for three points as they look to avoid relegation. They’re currently just three points, and one place, above the drop zone, but they could find in 18th place by kick-off in the Brighton game if Southampton can get three points against a dispirited Chelsea side. Whether he starts the game or is on the bench, having Benteke fit is a boost to Palace as they move into the business end of the season.

Ruben Loftus - Cheek has put in a number of extremely impressive performances since joining Crystal Palace on loan from Chelsea over the emotional connection he ’s clearly building with us will count for a great deal next summer, I’m sure we’ll feature in his thoughts if he in fact open to a permanent

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that he would love to sign Ruben Loftus - Cheek from Chelsea on a permanent basis.

Speaking to The Independent, Loftus-Cheek said this:

“I really haven’t thought about what’s going to happen next season.”

“I’ve still got a few games now. I’m focused with Palace. Whatever happens next season, I’m not really looking at that right now. I’ll deal with that when it comes.”

As a result of his regular game-time with Palace, Loftus-Cheek made his senior England debut in November – featuring against Germany.

The 22-year-old has started 17 Premier League matches this season, with injury having prevented more.
