Arsenal and Barcelona suffer transfer blow as 11-goal striker target is set for £17m Inter Milan move

Arsenal and Barcelona suffer transfer blow as 11-goal striker target is set for £17m Inter Milan move Arsenal and Barcelona have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez after news surfaced that the 20-year-old is poised to complete a £17m move to Inter Milan. The Gunners have been tracking the young forward for some time but Inter have moved to the front of the queue to sign Martinez after spending much of the last few months working on a deal. Martinez has caught the eye for Racing in the last 12 months, netting 11 goals in 13 games so far this season which has seen him emerge on Arsenal’s radar. Capped 11 times at U20 level by Argentina, scoring seven goals. Martinez is considered as one of South America’s best young prospects and is expected to follow in the footsteps of fellow Argentine standouts Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Paulo Dybala by excelling in Europe. It’s reported that despite having signed a new contract with his employers in January, Inter have struck a deal worth £17m with Racing Club for Martinez’s signature, with the striker poised to undergo the first part of a medical in Argentina this week. Arsenal are clearly in the market for a young striker given they are also interested in signing Willem Geubbels from Lyon, but the Ligue 1 club have slapped a £62.5m price-tag on the teenager also wanted by Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

CHELSEA , Liverpool and Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their respective pursuits of AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma .

Chelsea could’ve been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Icardi. AC Milan reportedly expect an answer from Gianluigi Donnarumma on Tuesday as to whether or not he’ll be signing a contract extension.

AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been linked with a move to Chelsea recently.

It’s been claimed that the Blues are making contingency plans in preparation for Thibaut Courtois’ potential departure, with Italian youngster Donnarumma one name under consideration.

However, as quoted by the Daily Mail, the Milan shot stopper has refuted claims that he could move on in the near future and has insisted that he is happy with life at San Siro.

“I’m calm and happy, I go forward with serenity (at Milan).”

Donnarumma is one of the world’s most coveted goalkeepers and he has been linked with moves to a number of top clubs around Europe. He evidently has an emotional attachment to Milan, though, and is in line to stay for some more years yet.

Henderson suffers blow to thigh in Porto clash

Henderson suffers blow to thigh in Porto clash Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson appeared to pick up a knock to his thigh near the end of the 0-0 draw against FC Porto this evening. The England international went up for a header in the closing stages of the Champions League clash and landed awkwardly. Henderson was seen limping rather awkwardly as the game drew to a close, and was subsequently shown to be strapping his thigh up following the full-time whistle. Henderson played out the full match against Porto, as Liverpool booked their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League. Although the Reds did not come out as victors on the night, their rampant 5-0 win in Portugal in the first leg of the tie was enough to make it a comfortable evening for Jurgen Klopp’s men. However, the knock to Henderson could come as a concern, with Liverpool gearing up for their crunch clash at Manchester United on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford. The injury could, of course, be as minor as a dead leg. Although, it is sure to be something that is monitored by Liverpool and their medical staff, with the Manchester United clash bearing such importance on their pursuit of 2nd place in the Premier League.

Gianluigi Donnarumma 's agent has responded to Chelsea transfer rumours by claiming he would "spend €38m (£30million) on him". Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.

PSG end pursuit of Chelsea-bound Luis Enrique .
Chelsea are widely expected to part ways with Antonio Conte in the summer but as of yet, there is no replacement on his way. Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is one of the hot names being linked with the potential vacancy at Stamford Bridge but the Spaniard is not short of suitors. Paris Saint-Germain were said to be interested in appointing Enrique as Unai Emery’s successor in the dugout at the Parc des Princes following his latest Champions League failure, but French source La Parisien are now claiming that the Ligue 1 side are ending their pursuit of the former Roma boss. It’s believed that PSG are moving onto other names on their shortlist as they believe that Enrique will be heading to Chelsea in the summer. Enrique took a year out of the game last summer after leaving Barcelona following three years at the helm at the Nou Camp, winning nine trophies including the Champions League in 2014/15. Arsenal were also in the running to bring in Enrique in the summer but all signs point to him taking over at Chelsea.
