Manchester City's win against Stoke on Monday night has made the prospect of the Blues winning the Premier League title against old foes Manchester United all the more likely.

A brace from David Silva gave Pep Guardiola's men a 2-0 win in the Potteries and maintained their 16-point cushion over their fierce rivals at the top of the table.

City have now jetted off to Abu Dhabi for some warm weather training as they look forward to almost three weeks without a game due to being out of the FA Cup and the subsequent international break.

'They are not the perfect team' – Mourinho says Man Utd can exploit Liverpool weaknesses While acknowledging Manchester United's own flaws, the Red Devils manager highlighted Liverpool's vulnerabilitiesManchester United manager Jose Mourinho said Liverpool have weaknesses that can be exploited when the Premier League rivals meet at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United and Manchester City face off in an eagerly-anticipated derby clash at Old Trafford that could go a long way to deciding the Premier League title . ADAM SHERGOLD has it live.

Scenario 2 – City to win the title against Manchester United on April 7. The league can be all-but won when City face Everton due due to their superior goal difference should the above scenario happen but Liverpool defeat Crystal Palace on March 31.

They return to face Everton at Goodison Park on March 31 before facing United at the Etihad a week later.

The Red Devils host Swansea when they return to Premier League action at the end of the month ahead of their trip across Manchester.

With the points differential currently sitting at 16 with eight games remaining, City cannot wrap up the title before they face United.

If they were to beat Everton and United lose against Carlos Carvalhal's Swans, they would be 19 points clear with seven games remaining - a gap United could still theoretically bridge.

But it would need the Blues needing just a point against their rivals at the Etihad in order to win a third Premier League crown.

Vidic: Man Utd could win the Champions League

Vidic: Man Utd could win the Champions League The former Red Devils captain believes Jose Mourinho's men are equipped to succeed in Europe ."It's Man United. I know the Premier League is bigger, but I think the Champions League could happen," Vidic said via ESPN."When the season started, I said that I thought United had more chance to win the Champions League than the Premier League because the players they signed didn't have the time to fit in."Also, Mourinho is a tactical coach, knows Europe very well. He knows there are going to be scrappy games and how to get through them."That's my belief.

One month to go: What do the Premier League big guns still need to do before the window shuts? For Arsenal, their summer – and season – rests solely on the shoulders of Alexis Sanchez. Keep the Chilean out of Manchester City ’s clutches and they could have a genuine shot at the title , especially

Simply put - if City win their next two games, they will be crowned champions after seeing off Jose Mourinho's men in front of their home support.

If the Blues drop points against the Toffees, it could become more complicated.

A United win and a City defeat against Swansea and Everton respectively would see the gap cut to 13 points - and put paid to any chance of City winning the league in the derby.

If City draw against Sam Allardyce's side and United beat Swansea, the Blues could only open up a 17-point buffer in the derby, meaning United could still mathematically overhaul them.

So - if United beat Swansea, City must beat Everton to keep alive their hopes of winning the title in the derby.

Clear? Good!
