Mathew Barzal had two goals and three assists while Anthony Beauvillier also scored a brace as the Islanders won the battle of New York, seeing off the Rangers 7-2.

Beauvillier struck first with his sixth of the season on 6:06, with Kevin Hayes drawing the sides level eight minutes later.

The Islanders then hit four in a row - the Barzal brace coming in just under three second-period minutes as the Islanders put the game beyond doubt.

Mika Zibanejad scored Rangers' second and his 14th of the season, but Thomas Hickey and Cal Clutterbuck grabbed two more in the last five minutes.

Darnell Nurse scored after 53 seconds of overtime as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2,  a game which saw William Karlsson get his 23rd of the season.

The Colorado Avalanche hit three goals in the third period as they beat the Dallas Stars 4-1, while the Philadelphia Flyers won 5-3 against the New Jersey Devils.

The Boston Bruins took the Montreal Canadiens to a shootout and won 4-3, while the Minnesota Wild beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-1.

The San Jose Sharks prevailed in a shootout to beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-5, while a Corey Perry goal on 18:32 in the third sealed a 4-2 win for the Anaheim Ducks over the Los Angeles Kings.

Scottish champions Celtic have been ranked eighth in a detailed UEFA report for the top 20 most supported clubs in Europe, while arch-rivals Rangers are in 13th place, according to the Daily Record. Celtic are well known for their passionate support and match days at Paradise are almost always sold out. Celtic are one in 11 clubs that have seen over one million spectators, with the Hoops reaching an impressive figure of 1,039,794. They are in the company of many of Europes finest clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Schalke and Manchester City. The overall attendances for Scottish football is seeing a very healthy increase of more than 15% across the stadiums in the Scottish top flight. Rangers just missed out on the one million mark and reached an overall figure of 933,964 spectators through the turnstiles. In the report, UEFA also revealed the kit maintenance revenue of each club and Celtic, yet again, were amongst the big boys. Although they make considerably less than the likes of Manchester United, the Hoops make between €75 million and €150 million, which is very impressive. They sealed the hat-trick when they were also named in the top 24 clubs for official club website traffic, with no other Scottish side making the list. The figures show how Celtic are beginning to compete off the field with many of the European giants and this will help them to attract more fans and players.
