Aston Villa right back Alan Hutton is out of contract at Villa Park in the summer and interest in his services is building. The Birmingham Mail reports that newly appointed Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis is interested in a potential move for the player nicknamed the “Scottish Cafu” by the Villa faithful. They have also reported that Scottish side Aberdeen are also interested.

Hutton has been at Villa for over six seasons.  He has made over 150 appearances as well as having three loan spells away from Villa park at Nottingham Forrest, Bolton and Spanish side Mallorca.

Hutton has been in and out of the Villa squad under different Villa managers but, since the appointment of Steve Bruce, he has become an integral member of the squad. He has been mostly deployed at right back but has successfully filled in at left back when he has been called upon.

West Brom are interested in Greek international defender

West Brom are interested in Greek international defender West Brom and Swansea are among just some of the clubs to have shown interest in left-sided Greek centre-back Dimitrios Siovas, according to the Daily Mail. The 29-year old Greece international has been starring for Leganés in La Liga this season, playing in 12 games and keeping seven clean sheets in the process. The 6ft 4in centre half can also play as a holding midfielder, and is understood to have a release clause set at just £10million. West Brom are weighing up potential targets with Jonny Evans’ future not yet clear. Manchester City and Arsenal are just two clubs to have registered an interest in the Northern Ireland international. West Brom’s Chinese owners are expected to be travelling ot the Midlands this weekend to watch the Baggies match against Brighton, where they will also discuss their transfer budget for Alan Pardew to utilise this window.

Hutton split opinions amongst the Villa faithful over the past few seasons but his recent performances  have seen many fans join the Hutton fan club.

There is a lot of competition for places at right back in this current Villa side with Alan Hutton, Ahmed Elmohamady, Ritchie De Laet and James Bree all fighting for a first team place.

If the rumours of Hutton leaving Villa are true, it would make sense for the club to try and offload him in January where they can still command a fee for him. With Aston Villa being blessed with great depth at right back they wouldn’t necessarily need to bring in a direct replacement for him which could see him used to free up funds for investment elsewhere on the pitch.

After securing his first victory as West Brom manager in the FA Cup, Alan Pardew will be looking to kick on when his side welcome Brighton to the Hawthorns. The Baggies have not won in the Premier League since the middle of August and find themselves languishing at the bottom of the table. After naming a relatively strong side to see off League Two opposition Exeter City, Pardew has some big decisions to make. Here is how we think the Baggies will line up against Brighton. 1/12 SLIDES © Steve Bardens/Getty Images Sport Predicted West Brom XI vs Brighton (H) After securing his first victory as West Brom manager in the FA Cup, Alan Pardew will be looking
