Griezmann chooses future United squad number - Report

Griezmann chooses future United squad number - Report According to reports in Spain, Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has already picked his Manchester United squad number, ahead of a move next summer. The Frenchman has repeatedly been linked to United, and Jose Mourinho remains keen on adding another world class player to his already expensive squad. As well as the 26-year old, United have also maintained an interest in Gareth Bale, although Griezmann is believed to be Mourinho’s priority. According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Mourinho even flew out to Madrid on Wednesday morning to discuss a possible transfer for the France international. The report goes on to claim that Griezmann would be willing to sign a pre-contract five-year deal at United if the club agree to pay his £89.4million release clause. Griezmann has also reportedly chosen his squad number with the Red Devils, keeping the No.7 shirt that he currently wears for Atlético. The No.7 shirt has a rich history for United in the Premier League, and Griezmann would only be the eighth man to wear it. Those to don the number include; David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia, Angel di Maria, the most recent occupant Memphis Depay, and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Daley Blind fears his United career is over

Daley Blind fears his United career is over Manchester United utility player Daley Blind ‘fears’ that his United career is over, according to The Times. The 27-year old is out of contract at the end of the season, and although United are reportedly keen to trigger a one-year extension in Blind’s contract, the move is believed to be aimed at protecting Blind’s transfer value, rather than prolonging his playing career with the club. The Netherlands’ international is said to be frustrated with a lack of playing time this season, and is rumoured to be open to a move. Inter Milan have previously been linked with a move for the Dutchman and could be prepared to make another move for him in the summer. United signed Blind, son of Danny Blind who was sacked as Netherlands head coach earlier this year, from Ajax in 2014 for a fee of £13.8million. Blind has played 135 times for United across all competitions, scoring six goals.

Romero eyes January Old Trafford exit .
Manchester United’s number two keeper Sergio Romero is weighing up a move away from Old Trafford in the upcoming January transfer window, as he fears for his World Cup place with Argentina next summer, the Daily Mail report. Romero, 30, has appeared in four games for Jose Mourinho’s side this season, all in cup competitions. The Argentine has been Mourinho’s number one in the Carabao Cup and has also played in two Champions League games, only when qualification for the knockout stages was all but secured. The Argentine played in the 2014 World Cup Final loss against Germany, and will be hoping to make the squad for Russia this summer, but believes he may need to exit Old Trafford to make sure he is in the side. Romero joined United under Louis van Gaal two years ago, and has only made 32 appearances in all competitions. With United’s number two clearly unsettled, it remains unclear if Mourinho will allow him to leave United in January.
