Philippe Coutinho picks his dream five-a-side team

Philippe Coutinho picks his dream five-a-side team Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho was asked by Soccer AM to make up his dream five-a-side team from the players he’s played alongside throughout his career. Here’s who he came up with and his reasoning for picking each player. JULIO CESAR “When I arrived at Inter Milan, in this moment, for me, he was the best goalkeeper in the world. He did great things at Inter. He is one of the best goalkeepers I’ve played with. When I arrived at Inter, I was so young and he helped me off the pitch. It was difficult being a long way from my family and friends. He is very quick with his movement and is also good with his feet.” LUCIO “When I arrived at Inter he was in his best moment. He won everything at Inter. He was very tough and trained as hard as he played. He’s a really nice guy but when he arrived in the dressing room for the game, he changed, you could not talk to him because he was focused on the game.” STEVEN GERRARD “This is an easy pick. He is one of the best players I’ve played with and I learned a lot from him. When I arrived at Liverpool, it was a dream to play with him, a guy who I used to watch in Brazil and I used to play with on the PlayStation. Stevie G is the best midfielder I’ve played with. He was an idol for me and for everyone who watched him play, but when you were together with him, and you see him training, it was different, he was even better. He was great at shooting, passing and defending and a big leader.

Inter Milan could swoop in in the January transfer window and try and persuade Emre Can to join them at the San Siro, as per Football Italia.

It is well reported that Can is out of contract at Anfield in the summer, as he wishes to have a release clause in his contract, which Jurgen Klopp is reluctant on putting in.

This means that the German international will be allowed to talk to clubs over a potential free move in the summer within the next few weeks, as soon as the January transfer window opens.

It is also well reported that Juventus have been strongly linked with him, and will try to get him on a free transfer. However, it looks like another Italian giant may come in to give the Old Lady some competition.

Emre Can will formally complete a move from Liverpool to Juventus after Saturday’s Champions League final, with the Germany midfielder poised to sign a five-year contract with the Italian club.

Inter Milan are now reportedly interested in the 23-year-old and will talk to Can and his agent at the turn of the year.

However, he may see his sights elsewhere, with Manchester City and Pep Guardiola also looking fondly at Can, just 40 miles down the M62.

There are still over three weeks to go until the window opens and Can is allowed to hold talks with other clubs, so maybe other clubs will become interested in him. Or maybe Klopp will give him what he wants in his contract to keep him in Merseyside.

Sandro urges Juventus to green light Chelsea transfer .
Chelsea tried hard in the summer to complete a deal to bring Alex Sandro to the club from Juventus but the Serie A champions repeatedly blocked the Blues’ advances. Antonio Conte remains eager on adding a left-back to his squad to compete with Marcos Alonso for a place in the team and it’s believed that Chelsea will try again for Sandro in January, but they will face competition from Manchester United. Juventus valued the defender at £80m in the summer which forced Chelsea to reconsider their options after having multiple bids rejected at a lower valuation. After new contract talks stalled, Sandro is believed to have informed Juventus of his desire to leave the club and that his preferred destination is Stamford Bridge as opposed to Old Trafford. Out-of-favour Tottenham defender Danny Rose is also a reported target for both Chelsea and Manchester United when the January transfer window opens next month.
