Confirmed: Gallagher joins Birmingham on loan .
Southampton Football Club have today confirmed that young striker Sam Gallagher has joined Birmingham City on loan. Twitter: #SaintsFC forward @SamGallagher40 has today joined @BCFC on a season-long loan deal. Full story: https://t.co/l2P7jo4Q8O (@SouthamptonFC) The forward will link up with former Saints manager Harry Redknapp for the 2017/18 campaign, and will look to enjoy another successful season in the Championship. Gallagher was in good form for Blackburn Rovers despite their relegation last term. He managed to net 12 times and certainly caught the attention of many. He was rewarded with a new four-year contract at Southampton at the start of the summer, but with first-team opportunities seemingly limited, he has now gone out on loan to Birmingham. Saints are now left with three senior striking options in Manolo Gabbiadini, Charlie Austin, and Shane Long.
