Derby set to beat West Brom to Huddlestone

Derby set to beat West Brom to Huddlestone Championship side Derby County are set to beat West Brom to the signing of Tom Huddlestone from Hull City. According to the Daily Mail, Derby are set to activate a £2m relegation release clause in Huddlestone’s contract to bring him to the IPro. The report claims that both West Brom and Newcastle were considering moves for Huddlestone, but Derby appear to have beaten both of them to clinch a deal. If there is serious interest from West Brom they still have the right to match Derby’s offer and hope they can give him a better deal than Derby are willing to. West Brom signed midfielder Jake Livermore from Hull last season, who was Huddlestone’s midfield partner at Tottenham and Hull – with the possibility of them linking up for the third time. The 30-year-old midfielder looks set to leave Hull after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.

West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry to Arsenal over a possible move for full back Kieran Gibbs . It is understood that Arsenal want to offload the left back and are listening to offers from a number of clubs.

West Brom have made an enquiry to Arsenal about a possible transfer of full-back Kieran Gibbs, as reported by Simon Jones of the Mail.

The arrival of Sead Kolasinac at Arsenal has seemingly pushed Gibbs even further down the pecking order and West Brom will hope that a possibility of becoming a first-choice player will appeal to Gibbs, who will still have an eye on making England’s World Cup squad for Russia 2018.

Tony Pulis is apparently a fan of the 27-year-old, although West Brom are unwilling to pay the £12million asking price set by Arsenal.

West Ham interested in West Brom's Salomon Rondon

West Ham interested in West Brom's Salomon Rondon According to the Express & Star, West Ham are eyeing a move for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon. Rondon signed for West Brom in August 2015 for £12m, which at the time was The Baggies’ record transfer fee, on a four-year-deal but only two years into his time at The Hawthorns he has been linked with a move away. There is no secret that West Ham and Slaven Bilic are looking to sign a striker this summer, with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Olivier Giroud and Kelechi Iheanacho all being previously linked with a move to The Hammers. No contact has been made between the two clubs about Rondon’s future and this deal could be unlikely as he is the main striker at West Brom and he is one of only three frontmen at the club. West Brom also rejected a £32m bid from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian in the January transfer window so if that’s anything to go by then West Ham would have to bid around that price to even get a chance of signing the Venezuelan. Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Rondon over the last year. Rondon scored eight goals for West Brom last season which is not a great tally, especially when West Ham fans have been promised a “20 goal-a-season striker” and Rondon doesn’t look like he fits that role.

Arsenal have made two changes to their starting line-up for the trip to West Bromwich Albion as Arsene Wenger gives Kieran Gibbs a chance in midfield, having lost patience with Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell.

Newcastle and Watford have also been linked with moves for the England international so if West Brom do want him, it looks like they might face a battle.

Arsenal seem happy enough to let Gibbs go as they have Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal to play as a left back or a left wing-back but they might need to lower their asking price to get him off the books.
