Arsenal's Perez dropped from pre-season squad

Arsenal's Perez dropped from pre-season squad Lucas Perez will not fly with the Arsenal squad for their pre-season tour of Austraila, according to Spanish outlet El Des Marque. The striker is set to remain at the club’s training ground in London as his future remains uncertain. The Gunners are due to face Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers next week as they begin their preparations for the new season. With Perez being left at home it is perhaps the clearest indication that the forward is no longer part of Arsene Wenger’s plans. Perez struggled to hold down a regular place in the first-team squad last season and was often used out wide. Arsenal have recently completed a deal to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon which casts further doubts over Perez’s long-term future at the Emirates. Throughout his first season, he was linked with a return to Spain with his former side Deportivo La Coruna keen on re-signing him.

Jeff Reine - Adelaide , who the Gunners hierarchy have incredibly high hopes for, started the match at the City Ground in a three-man midfield alongside Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny. Lucas Perez ready to quit Arsenal already.

Jeff Reine - Adelaide holds off two Reading players. PLAYING out on the left-wing, he was a constant threat throughout the first-half with his direct running, dribbling and eye for a pass. Lucas Perez struggled for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger has started to revamp the Arsenal first team this summer. He has brought in a tough left-back in Saed Kolasinac after Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs underwhelmed last season, and he landed Alexandre Lacazette, who appears to be the world-class forward that the Gunners have needed for so long.

Arsenal will be looking towards some new faces this season, and Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Lucas Perez are two players who deserve chances this campaign.

Kolasinac is taking Jeff Reine-Adelaide’s No. 31 shirt for the upcoming season, indicating that the 19-year-old midfielder will receive a lower shirt number and therefore a bigger role in the first team. With the conversion to the 3-4-3 system at the end of last season, Reine-Adelaide’s skill set could see him play as both a central midfielder and as a winger in the front three.

Welbeck will be hoping to keep fit this season having managed just 16 league appearances for Wenger's side in 2016-17. Danny Welbeck was also in from the get-go, along with a number of younger stars, including Jeff Reine - Adelaide . Like Ozil, Perez 's (left) future is not clear cut, and

Reine-Adelaide impressed during the Emirates Cup in the summer of 2015 when he played as a winger, but he spent more time as a No.10 when he appeared in cup competitions this past season. At 6’0″, his height could be useful in the centre of the park for defensive purposes. He has skills that can turn defenders inside-out, so he should see more time threatening the defence as a winger in the front three.

Lazio target move for Lucas

Lazio target move for Lucas Serie A side Lazio are eyeing up a move for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The report claims that Lazio are already in talks to sign Lucas, who appears to be surplus to requirements at Liverpool. Lazio are set to sell Lucas Biglia to AC Milan for a fee in the region of €17m, with his namesake Lucas Leiva looking set to replace him in the Italian capital. The 30-year-old will have been at Liverpool for ten years exactly later this month on the 27th July. He has been with the club since 2007, when he signed from Brazilian club Gremio. In that time, the holding midfielder has featured 344 times for the club – scoring seven goals. Lucas now looks set to leave the club for Lazio, although no fee has been mentioned as of yet. Liverpool had a £57m bid for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita earlier today.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain flourishing as a wing-back, the squad is slightly thin on the wing for the upcoming season. The first-choice front three will undoubtedly be Mesut Ozil on the right, Alexis Sanchez on the left, and Alexandre Lacazette through the middle, but after that, forwards like Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Lucas Perez, Alex Iwobi, and Olivier Giroud will either be battling for backup spots or leaving the club. This gives the young Frenchman a chance to live up to the hype and finally break into the first team.

Lazio make £5m bid for Lucas Leiva

Lazio make £5m bid for Lucas Leiva Lazio have made an opening offer of £5m to sign Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, according to Paul Joyce. Twitter: Lazio have bid £5m for Lucas Leiva. Player may not now feature in Liverpool’s friendly with Wigan Athletic tonight (@_pauljoyce) The Brazilian has just one year remaining on his current deal at Anfield and looks set for an exit from the club this summer. Lucas played a rather important role for Jurgen Klopp last season, filling in for Jordan Henderson in the middle, but he looks set to be offloaded as the Reds make new plans. Naby Keita has been lined up as a signing, which would inevitably spell the end of Lucas’ chances at regular game time if a move comes to fruition. It was reported last night that Lazio had opened talks over a move for Lucas, and given that a bid has been made, the discussions have presumably been fruitful.

Arsenal star Jeff Reine - Adelaide is the latest to have their season cut short, and joins Santi Cazorla and potentially marks over Danny Welbeck and Shkodran Mustafi’s fitness, with David Ospina and Lucas Perez also fighting to be fit for Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final date with Manchester City.

Lucas Perez returns for Arsenal up front against Southampton in Wednesday's EFL Cup clash at Emirates Stadium, with Aaron Ramsey in the number 10 role. Lucas is back after an ankle injury layoff, while Jeff Reine - Adelaide gets a start on the flanks arsenal will win 3 trophys this season .

Lucas Perez proved last season that he deserves playing time in more meaningful games than the EFL Cup ties that he dominated in. He scored eight goals in nine starts, while making 12 appearances as a substitute  The most convincing statistic that shows he should play a bigger role is the fact that he scored three of his goals as a right midfielder, cutting in on his left foot. He made just two starts at that position, but his prolificity should not be overlooked by Wenger like it was last season.

Perez netted twice while leading the line in three EFL Cup matches while playing with fellow attackers that were either teenagers, debutants, or both. It shows his ability to make the best of any situation he is in and that he can take it upon himself to lead the attack when needed. That type of determination and leadership is needed in the Arsenal team.

Lazio agree Lucas £5m fee

Lazio agree Lucas £5m fee Lazio have agreed a fee of £5m with Liverpool for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva, Sky sources understand. The 30-year-old must now agree personal terms and pass a medical before a deal can be completed.Lucas is Liverpool's longest-serving player, having joined the club for £5m in July 2007 from Gremio. He made his international debut for Brazil later that year and has gone on to win 24 caps for the five-time World Cup winners. After Liverpool's final match of the season, a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough, Lucas was presented with a commemorative trophy by Kenny Dalglish to mark his decade with the club.

A midfield trio of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine - Adelaide was a long way from our first choice, but on the night Arsenal were superb. Or the bit where he thought Lucas Perez had dived (he hadn’t, he’d been fouled)

Although Lucas’ No. 9 shirt was just taken by Alexandre Lacazette, a silver lining to his Arsenal future is the fact that he was still given a number for the upcoming season.

With his ability to play on the right, Lucas will be a goalscoring alternative to Ozil. Against weaker sides, the two could probably play together, with Ozil in midfield and Perez up front on the right. If he does not move on during this transfer window, Wenger should play him in a few meaningful games to see definitively if he can contribute in the league. If Wenger continues to leave him out in the cold, he’ll just be a Europa League and EFL Cup regular until January rolls around.

Reine-Adelaide and Perez are in two different stages of their careers, but they both have a lot to prove. Each player is dangerous in a different way and both have versatility that is valued by every team in football.

If Arsenal don’t manage to bring in any new attackers like Thomas Lemar or Riyad Mahrez, these two men have the potential to be like new signings.
