West Ham close in on Hart deal West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan, according to the Telegraph. The report claims that West Ham are close to completing the signing of Hart on a season-long loan from City, as he looks set for an exit from The Etihad. City manager Pep Guardiola made it clear last summer that Hart was not in his plans and shipped him out on loan to Torino in Italy, where he had mixed reviews. Hart is keen on a move back to the Premier League and looks set for that with The Hammers, who want a new number one for next season. Neither Darren Randolph nor Adrian was able to impress enough for Slaven Bilic to put his confidence in them for the 2017/18 campaign. The report also claims that West Ham could have an option to buy Hart on a permanent deal at the end of the loan. Manchester City are looking for a fee in the region of £20m.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan with Serie A side Torino, having been deemed surplus to requirements at Manchester City following the arrival of manager Pep Guardiola.

City signed Claudio Bravo as their presumed No 1 'keeper following Guardiola's arrival and this summer they have added Brazilian Ederson to their goalkeeping ranks.

Sky Sports News HQ reported last week that the Hammers were hoping to finalise the deal for Hart within the next few days, while Hammers boss Slaven Bilic said recently that he was expecting imminent reinforcements.

"What we want is to bring in the quality that is going to improve our first XI," said Bilic.

"We have (former Manchester City defender) Pablo Zabaleta and I am really expecting to add a couple more soon."
