Ake hoped to play more for Chelsea

Ake hoped to play more for Chelsea Defender Nathan Ake has said he had hoped to play more for Chelsea last season, speaking after his switch to Bournemouth. Ake completed a £20m move from Chelsea to Bournemouth earlier this month having spent half of last season on loan to the south coast club. The defender played 12 games for Bournemouth at the start of the season – scoring three goals – and looked like he was enjoying regular game-time. Chelsea then brought him back from his loan in January earlier this year and used him as a backup option. As quoted by the Metro, Ake said this: “I went back and was hoping to be playing for Chelsea, but in the end I still came back here (Bournemouth).” “You always want to play more but I know it’s difficult get into the Chelsea team. They have such a good team with many great, world class players. I knew it was going to be difficult.” “I thought I did OK in the games I played and felt like I grew training around those players.” The 22-year-old finished the season with just two Premier League appearances for Chelsea, ultimately forcing him to leave the club. Ake spent four years at Chelsea and made 17 appearances in all competitions, with Bournemouth one of three loans during that time. The Dutchman also spent time on loan to Reading and Watford in previous seasons for Chelsea.

Bournemouth record signing Nathan Ake hoped to be given more opportunities at Chelsea before joining the Cherries for £20million. 'You always want to play more but I know it's difficult get into the Chelsea team.

Watford’s on-loan Chelsea midfielder Nathan Ake has revealed that he hopes to play for the Blues next season, as per Watford Observer (the Express).

Nathan Ake started for Chelsea against Brentford on Saturday. That was important for me, I needed it. You learn so much when you play week in and week out, and you come back a more complete player ."
