The Liverpool Echo are linking Everton with a shock move for Celtic’s star striker Moussa Dembele, as Romelu Lukaku looks set to leave Goodison Park this summer.

Everton are reportedly chasing the French international’s signature after he helped Celtic go unbeaten on their way to the Scottish Premier League title, scoring 32 goals for the club.

The Toffees could be set to break their £30million transfer fee record in their bid to sign the striker.

However Everton face stern competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool who are also reportedly chasing the 21-year-old’s signature.

Former Celtic striker John Hartson believes that Celtic would sell Dembele if they were to receive a tabled bid of around £25million;

“I think Celtic will sell Dembele if they get £25million. It’s okay talking about turning it down but when you actually see a bid in black and white and it says £25million then it’s difficult to turn down.”

There have been reports that the striker was actually at Finch Farm yesterday, although there are unconfirmed at this stage.

Celtic and Tottenham looking to sign Real Madrid striker Mariano .
Celtic have had great success bringing in young players to Celtic Park in recent seasons, no better example than the transfer of Moussa Dembele from Fulham last summer. Brendan Rodgers has his eyes on another young forward according to the Mirror as they claim that Celtic are among clubs interested in signing Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz. Diaz has come through the ranks at the Bernabeu and has been promoted into the first-team in recent seasons, scoring five goals in 14 senior appearances last term. However, the 23-year-old is eager to start playing regular first-team football and with the big names in place at Madrid, he’ll likely have to move on in order to secure it. Tottenham, Lazio, Real Betis and Malaga are all also interested in the Spanish-born Dominican Republic international forward. Diaz has 32 goals in 43 appearances for the Real Madrid Castilla side and is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League should it arise, but Celtic will look to pip Tottenham to his signature if reports are to be believed.
