Liverpool the 'front runner' to land Aubameyang

Liverpool the 'front runner' to land Aubameyang Liverpool want to bolster their attack to mount a serious challenge on the Premier League title next season, as well as compete deep into the Champions League. The likes of Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings have all failed to prove themselves as regular and consistent performers for the Reds which has led them to consider some of Europe’s top forwards. A player on Jurgen Klopp’s radar is Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season with 31 goals in just 32 games. According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool, along with Chelsea, are the front-runners to land the 28-year-old striker this summer after PSG pulled out of a move for him. Dortmund have confirmed that they will sell Aubameyang this summer if their demands are met before they commence pre-season training on July 26th, so the clock is ticking to complete this transfer. While Aubameyang is a top target for the Reds, down in West London he’s considered a ‘Plan B’ target if Chelsea fail to land Romelu Lukaku from Liverpool’s rivals Everton. Meanwhile, Manchester United are also tracking Aubameyang as an alternative to Alvaro Morata if they cannot sign the Real Madrid striker. Now Chelsea and Manchester United could be in the race for Aubameyang, Liverpool could struggle to get this deal over the line.

Liverpool are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to Le Parisien, who also claim that the 28-year-old is open to the move.

The below video assesses the Reds’ chances of landing the Gabon forward this summer.

Aubameyang enjoyed a phenomenal campaign for Dortmund last term, netting 40 goals in all competitions, having registered 39 during the previous season.

He already has a relationship with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, having worked with him at the Bundesliga outfit for two years before the German left the club.

Liverpool informed of terms to complete Aubameyang deal

Liverpool informed of terms to complete Aubameyang deal Despite the £39m addition of Mohamed Salah from Roma nearing its completion, Liverpool remain interested in adding to their attacking options this summer. One player Liverpool have been repeatedly linked with is Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who worked with Jurgen Klopp during their time together at the Bundesliga club. According to Le Parisien, the striker is interested in a move to Anfield this summer as he looks to secure a transfer away from Dortmund after four years with the club. The top scorer in the Bundesliga with 31 goals last season has seen a move to PSG fall through the cracks but a transfer to another top club in Europe does seem on the cards. German source Bild have reported that Dortmund have laid out their terms for Aubameyang’s transfer this summer, with new manager Peter Bosz along with Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke being the chief decision makers. The Gabon international striker can leave Dortmund this summer if an offer in excess of €70m comes in – but these terms are only valid until the end of July and if there’s no reasonable bid on the table by then, Dortmund will step away from the negotiation table altogether. Fellow Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal are also believed to be chasing Aubameyang so Liverpool must act fast if they’re interested in signing him.

The Gabon frontman has this week admitted he could leave this summer. But when asked if he would reunite with former coach Jurgen Klopp, Aubameyang said: “I don't think that'll happen ." Top 20 Liverpool transfers ever.

"Nobody can foresee the future. It 's possible that a club could reach an agreement with Dortmund in June and I'll go [but] I do not think that [a move to Liverpool ] will happen ". In the recent past, Aubameyang has hailed Liverpool as a 'special' club

The Reds were reported by Dominic King of the Mail last week to have made contact with Kylian Mbappe’s representatives – a deal which would be worth over €100m.

But Le Parisien believe that the Merseyside club will chase Aubameyang and are willing to pay €70m for him.

Both strikers are among the world’s finest and would represent a real signal of intent from the Reds as they prepare for their return to the Champions League.

A deal for Mohamed Salah is still in the works, say Sky Sports, but further reinforcements still will be required in attack.
